My father-in-law has been fighting cancer for about one year. Well ... I guess he was having a tough night last night and he took a bunch of pills and tried to kill himself. He's in the hospital tonight and isn't making any sense. It's really tough for my wife because he is about a 15 hour drive from here so she is getting details via telephone. He's awake but isn't making any sense. We are afraid that he has had some kind of brain damage as a result of the pills he took.

I'm not a religious man but my wife and my family are (especially my mother). Im hoping that your prayers will bring strength to my mother-in-law and my wife and that my father-in-law will recover. My mother believes that the power of prayer is extremely strong.

Going to try to get some sleep.. Night!

    His name is Bert.

The drugs are wearing off. They will be running some tests on him soon to determine if he caused himself any perminant damage. A psychiatrist is going to see him tomorrow. Family members are pretty angry with him. I can sort of understand why they are angry but he's obviously in a lot of pain. I hope they give him a break when they go to see him in the hospital.

    Thanks for your prayers!!

Well Bert is back home tonight! He made a sudden, quick recovery. The shrink figures he was in a poor state of mind because of a number of factors. Kind of like a "perfect storm" if you will.

I really amazed that he's home so quickly! My wife is very releaved!

    Thanks again for your prayers!

    Cheers.
