Just took off the stock shocks and put on the front 5100 Bilsteins

Took me five hours, what a job, I don’t think I’ll ever put on front shocks or struts again by myself.

All is level front and back. New tires and alignment Mon or Tues.

Time for a lot of beer

Nice man! I did mine 2 weeks ago. Found easier then the progressive aal in the rear to be honest. But it feels great having it done and even more so knowing you did it yourself

My son installed new Falken Wildpeaks AT3W tires today. P-265/75r16 on my SCS F5 bronze wheels, 16 x8 inch +25mm offset. The combo looks Killer on the truck !!! Big and beefy...

Nice, yeah the rears go on in 30 minutes and the fronts a few hours, I’m sore.

Haven’t done an AAL, I’ll see how the Bilsteins are with stock coils and leaf springs. Only have 5k miles on the truck so I may really upgrade in a few years.

Had the billies on around 18 months on all stock and no alignment required. Ride so much better than the stock Sport shocks. Still level with no sag. Like was said the rears were maybe 15 minutes each.

    Great info, thanks.

I’m still debating wether I need an alignment. I’ll drive around tomorrow and see how it feels. I’m getting new Cooper AT3s Monday and they said they’d do the alignment for $50 but still not sure

No kiddin' it's superhot.....and not in an upfront sorta way.

It kicks you later after you get that first few bites in....then it's on like Donkey Kong.

    Sweet clean blackness !!!!

    Heck yes !!!!!!!

3" is the perfect amount for our 3rd Gens.....in my humble opinion.

    Results look great !!!!!!!!!!!!!

SCS Dark Bronze are my favorite colored wheels on QS & Black Tacos.

Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
I've got the 5100s all around, no lift, and the Cooper Discoverer A/T3s. Ride and handling is so much better than the stock Sport setup. No alignment was necessary.

Thanks, more good info. Earlier in the week I put on a front hitch and warn hidden bumper total 180lbs. I used the 2nd setting on the fronts and it raise up at least an inch back to stock height. I’ll have to see how it handles tomorrow.

Next time you go when you’re headed south and get to Bixby Bridge take a left before crossing the bridge. It’s a little over 17 miles and takes just over an hour or so. Best part is it comes out by pheifer on the south end when you get back to Hwy 1. Have a safe drive home man!

You’ll be glad you did it though. I have 5100’s front and rear with 887 OME’s. Rides nicer than factory!

After installation had alignment checked. That was free. If was out of spec would have been $70. Worth the $50. Nearly 10k miles and zero wear on ko2's. I rotate every 5k.
