    Yeah.
I have one, it is really cool. Still learning how to fly and take good video. I get caught up messing with the dogs.

I think there are two main reasons:
    1. Less air resistance if the tent is in the slipstream of the cab, rather than above it as you drive down the freeway.
    2. Lower center of gravity. Especially if you're driving on off-camber shelf roads, you want to try to keep stuff low :)

How do you guys deal with the tent turning into a sauna in the mornings? It gets so damn hot I start sweating.

Exactly why I switched. Also ease of opening my tent. And/or cargo. But I switched from half rack, thick tent.. to full rack, thin tent. @ThatGreg

    Before, after.

    Yeah.
Yep, those are 2 of my main reasons. Here are a few more:

    3. Easier to set up the tent without much climbing around on the truck.
    4. Gap between tailgate and rack is not big enough for a thief to remove my RubberMaid Action Packers where I keep all my camping gear. I can keep them locked and leave the truck unattended with less concern. Really only a worry when stopping in populated areas on the way to where I am going.
    5. I can get into the garage and hoist the tent off for storage (may not work for lifted trucks).
    6. A new one that I didn't realize until recently: A 4' CB antenna extends above the tent.

When I first got my tent, there were only a few fabricators making the mid-height ones so I built my own for my 2nd gen. When I got the 3rd gen, the holes in my homemade rack would not line up with the rail, but found that CBI was now making a rack with the same dimensions as the one I built.

    Now the cons:

    - Kind of limits the size of cargo you can haul when not camping, but not much more than a full rack would.
    - The cab blocks the hole for one of the window bars on that side of the tent. I keep a short bungie and attach it to the roof rack to hold the window open.

BTW, if someone needs a 2nd gen rack, come by and get my old one. Will trade for beer, it's simple but functional and I have all the hardware needed to mount it. Same height as the CBI rack.

This, plus it is much easier to setup and tear down when it is low enough to reach things from the ground.

    Edit:
I guess I should refresh a page before I reply to it after it has been sitting idle for an hour, haha.

Get a 12 volt fan from Amazon/Wally world. Some air flow makes a huge difference.

I like it. I have it running to a 2nd battery that isn't linked to my main battery. The 2nd one runs my fridge and 3 lights (that I haven't wired in yet). But allows me to run stuff without worrying about killing my main battery.

My CVT Mt. Shasta Extended Stargazer Summit in gray may be up for sale if it gets separated from the trailer. About 10 nights of use...in great condition and comes with everything as if bought from CVT. I've also got a cold weather cover and sliding ladder available which are both still brand new in box.

Not looking to spend that type of money. Was looking to spend in the neighborhood of 800 to 1300 depending on the deal.

Yes. I have the 100w starter kit from Renogy.

I will try to get some better pictures, as I have none now. But I bought a prewired panel that has 2 USB ports, a 12v cig outlet, and 3 switches. Attached that to a battery box, where the battery sits. I am using a blue sea fuse panel there too. I used a 4 pin trailer harness, to go outside of the box, in case I need to remove the battery box, I wouldn't need to unwire all of my lights.

    Only picture currently
