You have to buy the Tactrix OBDII separately. OV will send you an email asking for your trucks information. You email info back and forth and you get your tune files emailed. Flash it, and your off. Process takes a few days so be patient. Its incredibly easy if you're at all computer literate

I can definitely make the engine lug along now in a higher gear similar to what you can do with a manual trans. But I wouldn't call that thumping. Also more of a result of how I drive it when I'm grandpa driving around.

It would be sweet if @OVTune could put up some dyno charts showing the difference between the 87/91/93 tunes as far as torque/hp/area under the curve. I’m on the 91 tune 1.04 now and have to fill up with 93 because 91 isn’t offered many places here in NY. I’m contemplating switching to the 87 1.04 and seeing if there is any real difference during day to day driving. I can tell you though that the 91 tune definitely has more power higher up in the RPM range over the stock Toyota tune but I tend to avoid that range unless merging into high speed parkway/freeway traffic.

Anyone here have real world experience with fuel mileage/driveabily/power between the 1.04 87 and 91 variants?

P.S. this truck with the 91 tune will keep up with a tuned duramax 55-95mph

For me I actually feel more power in the low to midrange with 91 vs 87. It’s still an improvement over stock but I feel like the truck drives a bit “heavier” and not quite as light on its feet as with 91. I’ve run both for extended periods and came to the same conclusion I had even stock - that this engine seems to prefer premium even though it was rated for 87 to sell to the masses..

I also think I heard mention of the new VA locale having a Dyno so doing tests should be easier than having to schedule a day in advance at another shop?

Speaking of @OVTune when do we get so see some pics of the new east coast shop?!

    (Havnt tuned her taco yet)

    Ps. My duramax is putting
520hp and 1050lbft to the back tires

You will like 1.04 or the MPG version of 1.05. On 1.04 (91) I averaged 24-25 MPG on road trips in my DCSB OffRoad, when I kept speeds under 70mph. I ran stock except a Leer topper.

For the dongless people - what is the process to update to any newer releases (e.g., 1.05)?

Yep keep updating week to week..... Or learn and get used to driving it. Took me a few thousand miles. No lag/shifting problems. My right foot and I learned. No need for etc either which makes no difference on or off now to how the truck drives. Yep I was initially startled by etc but my foot adapted. If you cannot learn and adapt then a tune will probably make you happier and the guys at OV tune happy and richer.Nothing wrong with happy or rich. GTS Bruce

I've heard of several people mention this. Any idea what causes it @OVTune ?
