Agreed, but I'd probably have a custom plate made and welded up to mostly protect the bottom/drain plug...I don't have much issue with smacking the face of the diff against anything as much as I do dragging the bottom of it.

The BAMF diff diaper is beefy but at ~$500 I'd rather just get a smaller custom one made up for less. I think it's a little overkill for what I really need it for.

 

Yea, I'd like to get that just cause I want to not that I need it. But the diff is probably the strongest structure on these trucks.

 

Except for the drain plug ring....lol.

 

....... I'm getting armor lol and I don't care what anyone says about it.

 

Of course, I could just say fuck it and make the jump up to dirty 5s and have the clearance needed to not worry about dragging my diff.

@eon_blue From my breif search for armor it looks like most the armor doesn’t really cover the drain plug.
I think it was @Speedytech7 who showed a video of a guy who welded a beefy ring around the drain plug to protect it vs just a full aromr skid on the whole diff

Yeah that's another route I could go, just have a beefier ring welded around it. TBH I will be going 33s soon and it'll give me another inch of clearance which should help more than anything.

 

Tundra brakes on. Only took about an hour including drilling out the banjo bolts and bleeding.

Had to file down the rough casting on the new calipers to accept the copper washer instead of the double flare style fitting.

Here’s the banjo bolt drilled to clear the double flare protrusion in the caliper. (Before cleaning it up)
