I cut my hike short this morning due to the heat.
It always amazes me that people do not bring enough water. They carry a single 16-24oz water bottle and think that is enough. I have 3 liters in my camelback and bring a 24oz bottle of gatorade. I almost emptied the camelback today and only did 4 miles.

And here are some glamping, er camping pictures
    • Sam's Club in Flagstaff has a sweet deal on Tower Stations
    • Camp all set up
    • Cheap HF tarp worked just as good as a $500 awning... just have to be willing to figure out how rig it up
    • My daughter in the meadow by Lake Mary. Still has her helmet on from riding her scooter around the campgrounds.

I knew nate said he was a little out of shape, but to call him husky is a little mean.

Anyone have a good connection for a paper shredding company. One of those trucks that will come to the house or a location i can take the stuff to.

We need to get @chris4x4 to give @Blender control of the OP so you can do links to his recaps.

Yuuuup as I suspected, on my mount the bar itself is not true. It's the legs being slightly canted in relation to each other.

I was straightening up in the garage today and morbid curiosity took over so I checked an area of the slab for being acceptably level, then put the bar on it- passenger's side leg is high. Flip it 180, passenger's side leg is still high so it's definitely not the slab.

Push down on the passenger's side leg so that both legs are on flat ground and ta-da, driver's side is canted upwards. The truck is as true as they come. Glad it's the $150 part and not the $22,000 part. :p

The bolts are horizontally oriented, shims would move it side to side. Trust me I woulda thrown a nylon washer in there lickety split.

I did briefly consider an eccentric bolt, but that's far too complex even for me.

The truck is going to SDHQ for a couple of days starting tomorrow. My buddy is letting me borrow his van. This should be a fun couple of days.
