Thanks, gents. The clerk told my while I was at register with the daytona jack that I should buy the protection plan because she had two come back yesterday and the people didn't have the plan and were SOL. I just stood there and said something I wont repeat on here but, I think I am not buying a jack from them now.

Would northern tool be a viable option or no better than HF?

Their 3 ton jack and jack stands are a must have imo. The 3 ton jack stands have been invaluable. They extend to just shy of 24” and are beefy as hell. 60F8A7E3-C052-4FF9-B03F-539EB9674AD7.jpg 398ECF48-E172-46C0-AC48-F829BE31DE96.jpg

I think you mean 6 ton jack stands. Those are the ones that go to 24". And I agree that they're invaluable.

I'm guessing some of these jacks are returned because people aren't bleeding them per the instructions. I've Had the Pittsburgh low profile one for a long time. Great deal.

Yep, I second this. I topped off the oil and bled it and it’s working great, 3 years later.

Have you even read this thread? Dozens of guys own and love HF jacks. But I guess you should listen to some teenager at HF instead . Those shcmucks will say anything to sell a warranty ( they receive an incentive quarterly in relation to the warranties they sell). Last time I was there they tried to sell me a warranty on a $5 flashlight. Just buy the jack and man up.

The race jacks are really good. I like there ratchets. The earthquake xlt 1/2 inch cordless impact is pretty damn nice and would blast lugs off a snap on couldn't.

Yeah I've read the thread and no it wasn't a teen, and I don't purchase ext warranties.

I'm not sure if this is true at all locations, but my son worked at our local HF store. He told me never to buy an extended warranty because their computer system doesn't even have a way to track it. So basically if you come in for a replacement and say you had an extended warranty, they just go with it.

Anyone have any experience with the harbor freight ez up? It’s almost $50 cheaper than the real EZ-up brand at Walmart. But if its poorly made I’d rather just pay over a hundred for a quality one.

I have both. The legs on the harbor freight one are not as nice and take a little more effort to extend. Either one has worked fine for several years though.... If I bought a new one tomorrow, I'd save the money and get the harbor freight one.

Check out dicks sporting goods as well. I have one that's going strong for over a year and I use it all the time. Even had it up overnight while camping with heavy winds. It was staked down, but I seriously expected it to be ripped apart. Was pleasantly surprised the next morning when I found it in one piece. And it was only $40 since I got it on sale!

I think it’s on sale again.
