The grille it self, it appears to have a rough finsh. It looks dented.

    No.

that is a chopped/hacked-up SR5 grille that I painted, quite badly with plasti-dip. I am going to peel and repaint the grille sometime this summer.

This is a what I have on my truck

    I don't have a xtec grille.

Although, I believe teh Xtec grille may have been inspired by the few other guys that did the SR5 grille mod.

Yeah, was gonna say, mine is a smooth finish. I don't know of anyone complaining of defects, nor does the grille look like that :notsure:

    It all makes sense now...

Still looking for more people to be in for a group buy! Post up in here if you're interested!

Also the inspiration for the design on the xtec grille came from the first prototype I built by hand out of wood. I had never liked the stock grilles and wanted something different than the pro and wanted to do something unique that looked good but still fit the truck. People then suggested to put the toyota logo in the center.

Sounds like a couple more are in for a group buy. Have roughly about 7 or so. Feel free to tag anyone else who might be interested or post in here if you would like to be in!

Also might have come up with a new solution for the TSS mount.

What I'm thinking could work is to cut a square out for the sensor in the metal mesh (since metal can't be in-front of the radar sensor) and simply mount the sensor to the mesh. Maybe even put a thin piece of acrylic in-front of the sensor just incase for protection.

This would be a more expensive option but not only would you be getting a TSS mount solution but you would also be getting a mesh to top off the grille. Screen Shot 2018-07-19 at 11.00.27 PM.jpg

In for group buy, but you need to include ALL of the parts needed to adapt with the TSS (Garnish, etc...) and charge to reflect this. Me personally, I do not want / should not have to purchase different items to make 1 aftermarket product investment. IMO, that's like ordering a set of TC UCA's and having to buy the grease certs somewhere else. PM me.

I agree with ya'll on having the TSS mount built into the group buy price.

What I'm thinking is that there could be different options price wise.

    Option 1: Grille only

Option 2: Grille & TSS Acrylic Bracket

Option 3: Grille & Metal Mesh (the mesh having a cutout for the TSS sensor and mounting brackets for the TSS sensor to mount to the mesh)
