Unofficial news but I’m excited. For those of you who don’t know my brother is @geekhouse23. We’ve been camping since we were young and did road trips with our family. Our dad was the one who got us started and now he is no longer with us. We still fight and argue like brothers but we do have a good time. So we have decided to start documenting these trips. We’re on Facebook and Instagram for now as overlandingbrothers. Feel free to follow us as well as share pictures and stories of your trips with your overlanding brothers or actual brothers you wheel with. We would love to see your trips.

Update: it’s been a few months haha. The rear bumper is finally here. Should be able to get it installed in the new year with some help. Still having an issue with the projectors and hope to get that fixed next year as well. More small projects are being conducted and when they’re finished they’ll go here.

Also took part in the toys for tots parade again (3rd year) from patch auctions and donations I was there with $1300 worth of toys.

Wow. It’s been quite a while. So here’s some updates for Ashlee.

First thing is that my rear HC and swingout from @Pelfreybilt came in.

    8961FA37-B1CA-41E7-B680-4B377F0254D0.jpg

I went with Pelfreybilt for similar reasons everyone does. The quality of the build and the customer service. Not to mention I couldn’t go wrong with the free shipping they offered. Saved $500 on that which is more than just a certain percent off the entire order. I also decided to go with the swingout to get my spare out from under my bed as well as not have it IN the bed to clear up some space for going on trips and camping.

The install was made easier by help from @geekhouse23 and my buddy Gian. It wasn’t exactly self explanatory putting the swingout together but we were able to figure it out.

    8C960921-A8A0-4874-A1C4-E71CCA268AAE.jpg

I did decided to put a 3.5 gallon gas rotopax and 2 gallon water for emergencies. I still travel on trips with my 2 5 gallon gas cans in the bed. I was able to find a deal on these as well at the time which is why I went with them and put a lock on the end of the water can so no one can walk off with them. As for the reverse lights I went with Baja designs since they are recommended and I feel will be a little better than Rigids. If this proves correct my old LED bars from avec and eBay will eventually be upgraded when the time comes.

Plans for the summer are to install the water port in my bed that I got through tacomaworld secret santa. This will be nice for cleaning off when I get dirty after a day on the trails and won’t require me to walk or try and find a shower to hose off.

The next thing is going to take a little bit longer. This would be my plan to run a secondary battery (optima yellow top d34/35) in the cab by the molle panel.

(Oh btw, I got a Molle panel behind the rear seats)
    25A80B5E-BC5E-444C-9AC7-07A5E6A22DB1.jpg

Also I plan on redoing my wiring for my accessories to clean up under the hood and make most of it waterproof. My plan is to do the Bussmann RTMR which has a beautifully done writeup by @tacozord here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/diy-build-and-install-a-bussmann-rtmr-fuse-relay-block.399454/

It seems pretty easy if you go slow and follow the write up. I also plan on updating my rock lights because luxlighting offers the ability to connect the lights to one another.

I will also be scraping off old rust and recoating some of the areas that desperately need it. I need to redo my leafs as I didn’t have pads when I first did the 63 swap so hopefully the ones I have will work.

Some other things are currently in the works as well as far as the undercarriage and other aspects. Don’t want to spoil those yet

Trying to figure out things I want to get done before I head to Tennessee for Appalachian Toyota Roundup. I have a laundry list of things to do. The snow and cold doesn’t help anything. But first thing is first and I have to clean the garage, hopefully this weekend. But I’m starting to stockpile supplies and tools for my Bussmann relay build. This is one of the more important things I want to do and require my accessories.

I also picked up new rock lights. For those who don’t know I’m currently runnin LUX LEDs. These things are great and I have not had one issue so far. The only thing when I bought my current set is I have 6 on each side and each one has its one wire that had to be run. So I have 6 wires leading to one and then those two wires, one from each side, running to the relay panel. So now their new lights they let you run lights and wire hem to one another. This is a great idea but you have to be careful when first putting them together and be comfortable with where you want to put them. The main reason I went with LUX is they’re magnetic and you can kind of move them around. This doesn’t really let you once it’s set up if you don’t want loose wires then you can’t move them much. These new ones are as big as my thumb but they are bright!!!

One thing I am NOT looking forward to is cleaning the sliders and sanding them so I can repaint them. Angle grinder is going to be difficult to use all the way around and inside where the braces are. So that means sandpaper......... stay tuned for future mods and plans for the years to come ;)

So it’s been quite a while but I don’t have much to report. I upgraded brake lines to have extra room for a new upgrade

    A5DBEA84-3E6E-44D9-92D4-059E79EDC1D4.jpg Shhhhhhhhh

I also started work on my grill but it’s slow going because it’s been so hot

I also set up my Waterport from my secret Santa @rmahoney2013 I haven’t used it yet but it’ll be put to use during ATR

I also changed the oil and am doing 30k maintenance so I added this stuff I got from a friend. Gonna check and see how it goes.

Alright. Prep for ATR has to hit high gear. Hoping to still do:

    30k maintenance
    Repaint sliders
    Fix electrical
    Set up dual batteries
    Install new rock sliders

There’s also some other things I want to try and get done if I have the time

I also ordered my “long trip cooler” I kept it in the family because I love my small 45. This time I went with a 145 rtic cooler. I decided on a 145 for a few reasons. It should fit perfectly at the end of the truck bed, rtic is inexpensive but isn’t cheap (yes there isn’t a difference), and I have yet to have an issue with my 45 I currently have.

Also I’m curious if anyone has ever bought anything from autohance.com I was looking to get my new front brake set up since it’s $80 less than other places.
