I second this opinion. I've done this for my mothers car. Bought tires from DT, free shipping, and just take it to a used tire shop you can trust.

 

Big Perm is at the shop! Hopefully they can quickly determine the issue with the AC.

Its one of 3 things IMO
1) needs more refrigerant which is weird and could point to a leak somewhere
2) expansion valve needs to be replaced
3) evaporator core behind the dash is leaking

wish me luck yall....

 

Cut the doors off.
Trim down the bed.

This is a possibility but would just make it even hotter! Can you grow some mountains in Central TX and change the prevailing weather patterns so it snows?

 

Hope it’s a simple fix I feel your pain without AC it sucks BIG TIME!!

 

I mean for me, the truck is a giant, metal paper weight without AC this time of year in the Souf

One day! Supposedly details and stats for the turbo kit will be released on 9/1 by OVTune

It is blowing only hot air. It started cooling just fine all day and by the end of wheeling yesterday, it was hot only. There was a hissing noise coming from behind the dash which I am hoping is just the expansion valve dealing with lack of refrigerant. This morning, there is no hissing sound, and there is no cold air.

 

but Turbo taco motor <<<< LS V8. Easier?... Well... I see the allure of the Turbo kit

 

Supposedly Magnusson will also be releasing the super charger for the 3rd gen taco in September as well. FI choices! Just need that 7k to pay for it all

 

I'm more a fan of the whine of a SC. and that low end instant torque

 

Im thinking its probably better for rock crawling and slow offroading stuff vs a turbo which is probably better for the high speed stuff...

from what i can tell its 6k vs 9k for turbo vs SC... either way, its too much for me! lol

 

I’m sure 4.88 will get plenty of pulling power back.

 

I think so too! 4.88 + OVTune should be a kicking combo
