Really, that is the way it should be run. If you can't run the ledges uphill you shouldn't be on that pass. Though I don't think i would have any issue running them in a stock vehicle. They should have a guardian obstacle to weed out some of the dummies though.

A large "reputable" construction company in the mountain region recently told the employees "doing your job, showing up on time and working hard will get you nowhere in the company". I'm not sure what would get you anywhere...probably time on your knees. But it sounds like typical corporate America.

I also just heard a horror story of an idiot contractor. The problem was rain would wash out gravel from the front step of a house.

He added gravel which then made the landing flood. The solution to that was to add floor drains to the landing...then he trenched that around the side of the house where he drilled over 20 holes in a wooden beam to bring the drainage into the crawl space so it could be pumped out by the sump pump. He also dug under the footer and ran plumbing under it.

Finished up by insulating the crawl space with cans of great stuff (covering all vents).

Unfortunately, his labor and work was not inexpensive by any means.

    Clearly wasn't.

At some point we'll have to go look at it and see how we can fix it.

It's been so long since I've been on BBP. Is that really the trail or is this off trail?

Kind of the same response from guy on Right in video, watches it go over and then kind of causally starts walking that way.

True but still, if they were friends you would think they at least would try to rush to be first to call him a dumbass or crack a joke.

Good combo to go along with Black Bear.

Probably a good thing he crashed before making it to the switchbacks.

How much does it cost to rescue people from here? I personally think of all the tourists visiting Telluride only a very small percentage are coming for Black Bear.

Here is the Telluride News article after the Sheriff in Aug 2015 calling for it to be closed, notice he hasn't made a peep about closing it sense.
