Man o man. I cannot make a decision.
I hate chrome and slowly will delete it all.
Im getting an exhaust re route done and a magnaflow muffler put in and it rerouted around my oversize spare. Now im stuck. I have had custom exhaust on every vehicle i have ever owned. If i want a black tip it is clamp on only. Anyone ever had a tip stolen? Not about to try and paint in a tight space. What u guys think.?

Could't you just drop the rear of the exhaust and paint it with some high heat enamel?
There's always the possibility of the tip getting stolen or it falling off from the screw backing out on those clamp on ones. If you have a welder, you could put it on and tack it in place so it can't be taken off.

The clamp ons you cant really tell they are clamped on. So if someone gets under there to steal it they are going to be prepared with a saw to steal it clamped or welded.

No one is going to saw off a tip, maybe a cat, but not a tip.

Well true, i've never heard of anyone stealing any part of an exhaust except the cat. I think usually those things are stolen by junkies to sell for scrap and exhaust tips dont scrap for much

Unless its made of crack I don't think anyone is going to care to steal just the tip.

Yeah, because they contain platinum. I'd think the only reason someone would take a tip was because it was easy to remove and they wanted it for themselves.

You can drill it and use a couple of SS sheet metal screws if that makes you feel better.

Don't understand. Paint what? The pipe itself with no add on tip? Not hard. Drop the spare, pop out hanger holders so exhaust comes down. Make a temp 'shield' out of cardboard and have at it with BBQ paint.

Actually, just having the shop cut it off where it drops over the axle, so it is pointing at the ground, solves all your problems. Rerouting, painting, tips, etc etc.

Nah.. Im having the whole part that crosses over super low after the cats rerouted. Then magnaflow muffler added. Custom pipe at the back to bend around the over sized spare. I had considered just doing an axle dump but was warned of drone. Was also wondering with an axle dump...if it is pointed down....on dry dusty ground does the exhaust blow it everywhere?

I haven’t done an axle dump on a Tacoma but back in the day I put it on a couple Fox body mustangs and the drone sucks.

Will it blow dust around? Not unless you are giving it throttle in nuetral, if you are rev bombing it like an asshole than yeah, but you deserve the dust at that point o_O

Pics don’t really do it justice. It’s a nice tip.
