So you think. So many folks have thought. Alas, the mighty Tacoma Mod Bug has proven them all wrong.

    RESISTANCE IS FUTILE

Besides that, Welcome to Tacoma World. Enjoy your truck and CONGRATULATIONS on the baby.

I like it! Spin it as an Investment Strategy. It could be like one of those ultra convertible beds that starts as a crib, then can be changed into a toddler bed, then a twin, and ultimately into a queen sized bed.
The truck is your long range, all weather baby carriage and needs upgrades to carry your child/children well into the future.

"Of course we need full skids plates & rock slider honey, wouldn't want to damage the baby carriage body on a family nature outing."

For sure!!! I am up to about 4,000.00 and that is only a lift, wheels (no tires), skid plate, Pro grill, Undercover tonneau cover and some small things. But wife said I have to wait since it's only been 3 months that I purchased the truck.

Weathertechs are definitely #1 on the list. I've had them on previous vehicles and they are well worth the money.

I'm currently looking at seat covers. I've ordered some swatches from Coverking. Looking at the genuine neoprene (though I hear they get hot) and the rhinohide. I also ordered the mesh swatch, but I don't think I'll end up going with that one. I've read about the Clazzios here, but I'm not ready for that type of investment. I also considered the Wet Okole, but I think I liked the Coverkings better. We'll see when the swatches get here to decide on neoprene vs rhinohide.

I've already looked at the Pro-style grill. I don't hate the chrome that is stock, but I've loved the pro grills ever since the TRD Pro came out.

Hadn't thought about steps before, but you bring up a good point with the preventing door dings.

The truck came with the Toyota tonneau cover, which was nice as well.

Also, I've read that the automatic transmission adapts to your driving style. Since I've purchased this one new, is there some way to reset this? Or will it still adapt to my driving still even though it already has miles on it.

Love that red! I don’t see very many Tacomas in that color around here.

I Agree with others here....the OVTune transforms the truck and makes it much more enjoyable to drive (if you have an auto trans, anyway). Highly recommend. Yes it’s a bit pricey, but was totally worth the cost IMO.

If you don’t want to spend that much $$ and the auto trans ends up annoying you (like it did me), consider getting a Shift Sense Pro....a module that basically automates S-mode and helps with some of the goofy shifting issues. It doesn’t solve everything, but it helps......under $200.

If you have a non-JBL Entune stereo, replacing the tweeters makes an incredible improvement in the sound quality for not a lot of $$ (under $100). There are some Kicker (made for Subaru) tweeters that are a direct fit. Here are some details if that interests you.....

I wouldn't worry about resetting it unless you find you don't like the shift points as-is, then you could reset it by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for a few minutes which will clear the trans learning. Be weary though, while there are certainly several owners who have claimed the trans did learn their driving style, there are also many of us who felt it never really "learned" anything other than finding a way to jump to 6th gear nonstop (resulting in constant downshift/upshift behavior). If you see this is happening a reset may be in order, and if it degrades again you can either drive in S-mode (cancels the learning) OR you can get it tuned which improves shifting behavior.

Coverking aren't hot in my book. Leather is hot. When I first got mine I felt they were warm but they just needed to off-gas a bit for a few days and they breathed better after that. My truck regularly sits in 95 degree humid days in the sun and the neoprene isn't too hot when I get in the truck... Look at Costco as well, with a membership I think I got my front/rear for $350 delivered.

not the best pic but snapped one so you could see them in the basic grey/black colors and this is after over 1.5yrs of use. every few months I go around with a sponge and some nikwax wetsuit cleaner and it works like a charm

If you do, it will have “JBL” in orange printed at the bottom of your stereo screen.

I was sad I didn't have the JBL myself, then I found a solution here on TW and it sounds awesome! ...and many JBL owners have also replaced theirs with a similar setup. I then drove a rental Taco while mine was in the shop that had the JBL and while the sound staging was decent the sound was so hollow and tin-y compared to my Kicker setup. And it's not an expensive or time consuming upgrade.
