I hope you have great seat belts and air bags. That's going to hurt.

8's just for now so I can get all the parts off my truck that can be sold off and get rear end stuff started. Truck's a good year out from being even close to where I want it to be. I'd like to get my new axle and rear springs mounted and then figure out the fab stuff for the bed cage and front shock mounts. Already got 10 co's and bypasses and I'm not sure if I want to make my own hoops or buy solo's or just have them install everything else later. I am done my university stuff so I started taking a welding class where I have access to a plasma torch and horizontal bandsaw.

Question: I am sitting much too high to run my 600lb 16" springs w/o any preload. I need to add a bumper, front axles, and a winch, but I don't think even those will be enough to drop down enough. I figured 550 or 500 may the way to go, but could use some advice on how to go about this. FWIW I found some cheap springs online:

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/Eibach-Spr...718?_trksid=p2349526.m4383.l4275.c10#viTabs_0

Figured $70 a pair wouldn't put me out too much and could sell them off for not much less if they didn't work out - I just don't have enough info to run the calculator on this website since the truck isn't driveable atm to get to a scale and there are't a lot of options besides 550 and 500 anyway.

i have to compress my 600# springs before i can even get the coilplate on the bottom. and i have about an inch down on the coilnut. i just have a plate bumper and 2wd.. you need to back that coilnut off a little and add in everything else.

Turn your fitting up and route your Resi over the arm and back off the preload.

you just have too much preload and you're also missing almost 150-200lbs of shit after you add a bumper, skids, and a winch. Really more like 250. You might want 650s after all that honestly.

I'm figuring out how this all works as I go so if I make a mistake in how I'm interpreting it let me know. To fit these 16" springs I didn't have to compress them at all with the collar right about where it is. If I droop out the suspension and back off the preload any more, the spring and the collar start to separate and I have to guide the spring back into the collar when I lower the truck back onto its own weight. I interpreted that as this spring has no preload and has a spring constant that is too high. If I somehow get the spring higher on the collar, but not change anything else, wouldn't it fall out of the collar when drooping out the suspension and get sketchy? Again if I'm missing something just let me in on what I'm missing. I know limit straps solve issues like this, but I thought it would be to protect shock shafts, metal to metal, and cv's, instead of coils coming out of collars. Thank you.

No you're good then. In fact you don't want the coils quite that loose. Id try to have 1 full turn on the coils after the collar contacts the coil at least.

You still have a ton of weight left to put on. You don't need new coils. If anything you'll want heavier coils.
