I'm either leaving at 5am Friday or doing this. Just not sure I want to completely unload my truck bed to sleep when I get there at 11ish.

Cool. Gatsby (Rottie mix) and Snowball (Maltese) are dog (and people) friendly so hopefully they will become fast friends on the trip. :fistbump:

Nice pics! That is getting me psyched for this trip. What was with the minivan's bazaar front bumper?

Just did the laurel lakes trail this morning. What a cool place. Not a bad trail (except for the switchback. Ran into a TRDOR long bed truck who made short work of the gnarly switchback. Also saw a fulll size Chevy down there that was somehow able to sort out the switchback. Got to put the MTS to the test and was really impressed. Running the stock Goodyear tires and the MTS eliminated all wheel spin in all the loose rocks. You guys should have a great trip. It took a little over an hour to drive to the lake from the trailhead.

What is at the other end? Do you have to turn around and come back the same way you went in or is there another trail down the mountain?

I'm bringing some toys. Nice shooting spot I sue about 10 minutes from campsite and BLM land so totally legal.

I went today and saw a DCLB tackle the hairpin turn no problem. Just had to go back and forth maybe 4-5 times to get room to turn. Alternatively, you can nose into the switchback, reverse the short distance to the next switchback and you are good to go. I found this method super easy and cause no pucker factor.

I know several of us are planning to do a trip to Laurel Lakes Saturday morning, but if you get there early, I'm sure we'll be there.
