Not sure, probably next week sometime. Probably Monday so I’ll have two full days set aside though it should take anywhere near that long. That way I can take my sweet time.

Yeah of course! I’m also learning so I can give @BravesTaco95 tips as well as @Mobtown Offroad if he decides to go this route as well. I’ll be the resident lunch box locker guy.

Did you order the powertrax in the products discussed box in the lair? If so is it always locked? I guess I would have to replace the whole axle if I wanted to be able to switch on/off?

I think my 2.7 truck has an 8.4” diff. Is that true @buyobuyo?

Edit: holy shit diff info is confusing. It’s an 8.4" but it’s actually an 8?!

I got the power trax, but there’s two different ones. One is more street friendly and that’s the one I bought. Both the ones linked would fit yours.

It’s akways locked but somehow when going around corners it unlocks itself. It’s not the most graceful thing though and could be noisy.

If you wanted a selectable locker you could still keep your axle, but you’d need an aftermarket like arb. And would need a professional to install it.

    :help:

Yeh I would want selectable as this is my DD, but that may be out of my price range. I bet I could get through 95% of the times I use 4wd without having to engage 4wd if I had a locker.

Apparently the lunch box locker isn't bad in a DD, especially if you get the one I got that has great on road manners. You just have to adapt your driving style a little bit to coast around corners instead of accelerating through them. Once I get it installed you're welcome to drive my truck and see how you like it.

I’ll likely take you up on that. I usually downshift through corners. Not sure if that would engage it or not.

Yeah if you're on the gas, it's locked. At least that's what I've read online.

    A thing or two...
Yeah. We're the 8.4" diff. The e-locker diff is the 8". The 8.4" diff ring gear is actually 8.25".

You might be alright with an LSD over a selectable locker if an ARB is out of the question. However, if you order a complete 3rd member from ECGS with the ARB, you should just need to run lines from a compressor to the ARB, and you could install it yourself. Being a prerunner and the amount of road driving that I do, I'd rather have an Eaton Detroit TrueTrac. I came across this company (http://wavetrac.net/index.htm) that makes an interesting LSD. Unfortunately, they don't make one for our trucks.
