I just got the OEM rubber one. I hear it the bear skin is itchy.

I am interested in the C- Cup tracking Device though. :)

Someone on here asked me how to retain the blue led by swapping inner components. I did it today, disassembling the OEM and red TRD buttons. Here's the right up (this assumes you have removed the button modules):

Just did it- easily doable but not for the faint of heart.

First use a trim tool or sharp screwdriver to delicately pry the chrome trim ring up and off.

Then you'll see the three trim clips that hold the "guts" to the case. You'll need an extra pair of hands here.

There's a flat gap in the middle where the guts and outer casing meet. You can see silver metal connectors in the gap. Using a flat screwdriver wedge it in there... then work your way around the top pulling the trim clips out to release the guts- apply gentle pressure with the flat screwdriver to work the inner unit up. When all three are released, the guts slide out of the housing.

Now, hold the inner unit PULLING the button in with some pressure by pulling the white slider in. There are three more little trim clips holding the button to the white slider. You'll need a pick, using that, go in from back side and pry the trim tabs up. Keep a "pull" pressure on the white slider to keep the tabs from relocking. The two on the side are a. It finicky.

Patience and tools make it a 10 minute job.

Simply do this with both buttons and farm the red button to your existing inner module and it works great.

You can rebuild the spare and sell it as a green one for someone wanting something different...

Wish I took pics, it all kinda happened quickly.

Awesome job. When I was vinyl wrapping my dash I had the button out. I removed the chrome ring and was attempting to pull the rest apart but ended up forgetting about it. I want to get the dimensions of just the button, then have new custom ones made with any color/text so we have a cheaper alternative than a $180 for an entire switch when all I care about is the front

My research indicates those are the 11 pin connector version- not PNP.

I would advise not getting the stick-on start button covers. You lose the back lighting and if you aren't completely square on the switch the button will stick. I installed one on my 2019 Camry XSE V6 and left it until I had time to heat it up a little to safely remove it without possibly doing damage.

In about thirty seconds I came up with more things than I can count on my fingers and toes that people will pay more for, merely to choose a different color. Least of which is a $135 button.

    Oh, without a doubt.

Different strokes for different folks and all.

There are people who will spend tens of thousands of dollars on a shiny bauble to wear on their finger or around their neck.

People spend their money on what makes them happy.

If happiness is found in a red start button, so be it.

    But not for me.

Wondering where in the 'To Do List' is the ignition button for MESO. Lord knows he has enough irons in the fire.
