Yeah im not 100% sure who cleans ours just ik a company comes and cleans it lol

 

Does it look the same on the other side of the bushing? Maybe one pic is the outside and the other is the inside. I can't remember what mine looked like before I installed them.

Just make sure if you're going to disassemble them to add an AAL that you don't over tighten the bolts on the 3 clamps on each pack. There's a long washer on each of them that's supposed to prevent you from doing so but it's still possible to do it...trust me. Or your dakars will sound like popcorn driving down the road.

 

Change my bumper, trying to get the blinkers to work, I think the bulbs way be bad. Will continue tomorrow.

Also, thinking about building a steel bumper now, my friend welds for a living and has access to cheap metal. Have to see what I can come up with.

Weird, I'll have to remember to look at mine tomorrow and see if I can make out the number on them. Mine are so coated in lubricant/grease though to get them to shut up I don't if I'll be able to read it.

OME makes the greasable shackles but mine don't squeak from the shackles, they make tons of noise from the front hangar bolts. I've heard you can get greasable bolts for that too though.

 

even if its compatible, kind of calls into question the whole dakar/ARB quality thing - or is this a wheeler's offroad thing? One side has a bushing made in Japan apparently universal with Honda/Isuzu and possibly Toyota while the Passenger side has a bushing made in germany?

right, I have the OME shackles as well. I was reading this one and that is when I noticed the difference between the front bushings. The shackle side are the Wheeler's poly bushings which I believe are made by Daystar - not sure. Which grease did you use for the shackles and did you grease the front hangar bolt?

 

None of my Dakar's have ever come with bushings, but I bet they just changed manufacturers mid way through. No biggie

 

i hope so... damn OCD is making it tough to turn a blind eye and just proceed with the install... haha

 

Yep I greased both using moly grease. I probably should have been more generous with it on the front hangar.

I really wouldn't worry about those bushings being different so long as they fit well and are made of the same material I don't see an issue.

I didn't go with the greasable shackles in the rear but I did get the yellow ARB bushings for them.

 

Interesting. When I ordered the kit from Wheeler's, they mentioned on the full kit they were subbing out the OME yellow (all - even shocks) with their poly bushings due to numerous complaints of squeaking - something about the OME yellow bushings not having enough graphite (or was it teflon) in them. Can't remember.

Well shit lol...just my luck I would get the damn squeaky ones. They make a fuck ton of noise unless I dry-lube the crap out of them once a week.
