I wasn't going to post this but after sleeping on it I felt I should. I lent my ECGS tool to a member here in the NE. Borrowed in May and was told he would be done with it in a couple of weeks. I had to ask for it back last week and here's how it was returned. I will not name the member but the tool is now ruined. It's not about the cost. I could really care less. It was how something was borrowed, altered, and returned. Now to be clear, when I asked for it back, he did say he had to grind a little off to make it fit. The working edge is rounded off and I'd be concerned about snapping the bearing leaving the race in the housing.

 

So, I think that truck looks great, but I could NEVER own that in the city. First of all you can't probably see out the backs or sides worth a shit in those little streets with all the cars and secondly I would be worried I would be robbed constantly!!! People are saying he is mainly out of VT, but he obviously lives in MA somewhere. I just would constantly be worried I'd be robbed.

That's too bad, things like that obviously make you a lot less likely to share in the future. I have no idea what it looks like new, but it sounds like it might not be usable anymore and that stinks.

 

Sorry to see this. That’s not a cheap little tool for what it is. I believe if I’d had to do something like that i’d maybe asked first and ordered you a new one to replace it but that’s just me I guess. This is why I don’t loan many tools I guess

 

Not cool at all. I did a few with one of those tools and it worked flawlessly, it didnt need to be ground down

 

Why would you even think of doing that ? It’s not yours. Who ever it is owes you a new one with a letter of apology. If it wasn’t going to work they should have contacted you.

Hey Paul if you want, you can mail me the modified t-slot nut they use and I'll make you a new one. I need to make one for the one we use. 15-20 trucks and it is pretty bent now

Why would it need to be modified in the first place? It works the way it comes on everyone else’s truck. Doesn’t make sense. That sucks

Good morning from Fenway...


Working at Fenway Center today hauling concrete. You can see the job right on the Mass Pike.

 

Ours was too big by a hair or two when we first got it, but it's banana shaped now and usually fits in pretty easily now. I've heard of people slightly modifying them, but still not right to modify someone else's tools without prior approval to do so

 

Oh, no kidding. I didn’t realize they were that close. But you’re absolutely right, should’ve asked first.
