Ugh, that’s not good to hear. I always drive with the windows down now. I’m too afraid to try with them up in case it has gotten louder haha But if you think it is I’d take it on a long drive and see how loud it really is.

I most likely won’t get to adding the Lexus dampener this weekend. Need to help the parents around the house, install the rek gens, shoot the bow, and... take a look at the rear diff.. just was underneath the truck and it looks like I have seepage. UGH. 2018 SR5 with under 5k miles. Had 5k service 2 weeks ago. My damn luck. You wouldn’t happen to know if the torque is 18ft lbs or 33ft lbs for the SR5 would ya? Lol

Bummer. I'm trying to put my OCD away and stop crawling under my freaking truck after every commute home to see if fluid has shot all over the place.

Make sure you re-torque your U-bolts after getting this TSB done. I had mine done by a great shop who did good work, but I was noticing a lot of travel in the rear with more travel leading to a rougher ride. Checked the u-bolts and they were far from 52 torque spec (took several rotations on each to get them to spec). Smoother ride, suspension is doing it's job again

I was thinking about this as I drove away from the dealership last week.

Yep, I always kept mine inspected every 5k miles or so before the TSB but hadn't checked them since I got this work done and sure enough very loose. I think there was some confusion over torque specs so perhaps they are only getting tightened to 30 or something but I can definitely tell a VERY noticeable improvement in rear suspension when they are snug

I'll just leave this video of an airplane flying overhead my whole way home. Oh, wait...that's just my truck whining like a little bitch (like me).

My fix is still going strong after almost 6k miles. It easy to still hear as I have grown accustomed to the new tone, but it's still nowhere near as bad as it was. I'd still say it's 90% better. I'm still going to recheck my u bolts though.

Mine is still much better and it was much louder than the one on the video recently posted. Hopefully it stays that way but, like Dangle, I can still hear it due to my dialed in hearing abilities/supernatural whine detection/OCD.

So I recently rode with a relative who has a 2000 Suburban with about 220k miles.

Heard the exact same howl! At the exact same speeds.

As soon as I heard it I popped up and looked around at the other passengers to see if they heard it. No comments.

I feel better knowing this guy has driven 200k+ miles with the howl.

Still annoying but we’re not alone in this...
