I am only using these bolts for the bungee net to avoid adding extra stress to the bolt. Anything that has a load on it is going to use the threaded inserts.

I understand. Itll just be for the anchors and bungee net for pillows and bedding, shouldnt be too much stress.

Some stoke and a general updates, just getting some content back from a photoshoot last week.

Working on a new website today (planning to launch next week) that will have some features you guys, and especially existing customers will appreciate. Have a new phone system being implemented as well, and we brought on Elise (who some of you guys have spoken to) to support existing customers via email/phone. Up until now it has just been me manning the phone lines, and we have waaaaay to many calls for that. We are actively working towards improving the customer service end of our business to be in line with the quality and attention to detail we maintain in our our products. We especially are focusing on existing customers so that emails get quick responses and phone calls and voice messages are promptly attended to.

You guys have been awesome the last few months as we have been growing like crazy, and I want to let you know we really appreciate your understanding and we work to improve your experience. We also appreciate your feedback if you run into any issues moving forward with our customer service, as it helps solve those problems quickly.

Production is still cranking away, and the web features we are working on will help document that process. Thats the only hint I can give for now... :alien:

Just received a call from Elise. Mine is off to powder coat as well. Looks like two weeks and it will hopefully be ready.
It’s awesome how a tiny bit of communication just turned my day around. So stoked!

Ok..... I’ll test your theory. My GFC SHOULD be done now, started the week of July 2nd... several good communications with Elise but no word on when Graeme was coming or if I’d be better off having mine shipped....

Maybe I’ll get an email reply now too....

Side note. Anyone had one shipped instead of White Gloved yet? Obviously I’d prefer white glove but I’m 5000 miles east of the normal delivery routes and that seems to be hurting me.... the east coast is not OverlandAF like Cali....

We have quite a few in final assembly right now, we will be in contact as we get ready to schedule shipment/delivery. It may be faster in your case to get the camper shipped, as we will be making Eastern runs less frequently than west coast. We can absolutely ship, especially to less common locations. We do really prefer to do the white glove service though if possible.

Ill make sure Elise is in contact with you soon, but I have a feeling she already knows...

That's likely true... I think the delivery rig has 11.5k miles in like 6 weeks. Bout to have a lot more.

This is exactly what we are working to achieve. Thanks for the feedback.

Yup, we have 30 sets of "frame saver" striker covers at anodize right now, just waiting on those to come back and be ready to ship along with the rest of the goods.

Thanks Graeme. She has been great answering my questions so far. If you don’t think you’ll be out here in the very very near future I’d definitely like to have it shipped ASAP. I’m thinking I’m going to have the one and only at Mid-Atlantic Overland Fest in Early August (if it gets here!!!!!). Than maybe you’ll have a few more orders from this coast.

Anyway thank you all again, GFC has really been amazing. I just can’t wait to get a hold of mine... I’ve got a lot of boxes of stuff sitting in my garage waiting....

    Thanks Graeme.

Things to get me in over my head

Where are you located? I'm in western Mass, and #49, and deposit #29 but I don't think that matter for anything. It seems that localish delivery, and pick up have gotten priority. I may be completely off base, but... I would make the trip out to pick mine up, but the gas alone would be $900, and I would have to leave my RTT setup at home, so camping one way would be out of the picture.
@gmacmt have you shipped any units yet, and have a currier worked out? I have a commercial address all worked out, its a powersports shop that deals in new bikes and sleds. I talked with Elise last night, it was good to talk with someone about the build. She was very friendly, and put my mind at ease that mine was going into production. However still kind of bummed that I am going to miss most of the summer camping season in my new GFC. But it is what it is, and I hope everything at GFC is going smooth, and the stress level is evening out. I even toyed with the idea of packing up shop and moving out there and taking the welder job, probably a cool place to work.

I'm in Upstate NY, Pretty much between Syracuse and Rochester. My parents live right on the Western Mass Boarder in CT (West Hartland), IF GFC gets ours together and you're one of the "quite a few in final assembly right now" than mine certainly is and maybe Graeme will head this way and we can set it up somewhere. I'm order number 41 so mine should be about as done as can be. I NEED this camper on my truck by August 6th or 7th at the absolute latest to make Mid-Atlantic.

I feel your pain and slight aggravation as I'm sure 100 other people on here do as well. I was fully expecting mine for Memorial day, than July 4th, now I'll be ecstatic if it gets here by the beginning of August. Like I said at this point i'll take the shipping or agree to meet up somewhere with you and maybe anyone else on the East Coast. What ever gets it on my truck the FASTEST is what I want. To be honest I think everyone is just so damn anxious to get these, and to be fair when we all paid we were given a much shorter time line to go on. I know things change but it's tough to keep sleeping in tents and changing my vacation time.

Anyway if anyone else is in the New England, New York area with a low build number chime in. Maybe we can present a strong enough case to get Graeme out here sooner than later.

    -Yota

Oh and if it happens to work out I will offer my home for the GFC Meet up, I've got a 1200 sqft garage with 13ft ceilings, 2 huge car ports, and a front yard big enough for an overland rally so onsite camping wouldn't be an issue. I also work for one of the largest breweries in the US (so beer won't be a problem either). Though I tend to doubt I'm in the middle of much but you never know.

I'm in NC and was #15 so I got the free shipping. To my knowledge, mine was the first they shipped and it was with some difficulties. It took 9 days to arrive on common carrier so just an FYI.

They custom built a huge pallet, bolted it down and placed cardboard around the lower edges. Next they shrink wrapped the entire thing, sides and top. In spite of their best efforts, it arrived with some serious deep gashes on one of the sides. Unfortunately the shrink wrap hid that until it was unwrapped so we couldn't ding the freight hauler.

If you're shooting for an early August delivery, it needs to ship pronto.

Thats around the time frame for LTL freight. Was it 9 actual days or 9 business days? Shipping LTL freight from Los Angeles to the east coast sometimes takes 12-14 business days.
