Sounds like we’re going to have enough pew pews around camp to keep them bears away

Haha...since I love to backpack and being in a tent, I try not to worry about it. I had one come up and check me out in my tent a couple of years ago. Was scarred shitless at first, then just kinda figured if he really wanted me bad enough, he would have already had me by the time I woke up. Slept like a baby the rest of the night.

They aren't going to bother you guys at all... unless you leave a picnic basket out. Then more likely the raccoons will be getting at it and you all should be more scared of them than bears.;)

I'll have a Ruger 9mm for the 2 legged critters & a 44 mag hand cannon for the 4 legged pests. :infantry: Can we tie a goat up like they did in Jurassic Park?? Please?!

Looking like I'll leave at 0 dark thirty Friday morning, on location around noon. That hairpin doesn't look horrible. I'm 2wd locked on 34's. Only concern is my inner tire spinning while locked & causing me to slip with the slope. YOLO.

I am meeting up with a few people at Trader Joes in Hunting Beach Harbor Thursday around 6/7pm and leaving from there. I plan on driving straight to the campsite so I can wake up already there Friday morning. Traffic can be hit or miss, but I am guessing I will get there around 1:30am ish... If traffic is really bad I will camp at Alabama Hills and then mobb the rest of the way in the morning.

As far as schedule goes, I've always felt its better to not really have one so everyone can do what they want when they want. But here is what I kind of plan on doing if I were to have any schedule.

FRIDAY: Meet n Greet - Check out Inyo Crater - Pew Pew -Fishing/swimming - Hot Springs - Beer & Bonfire

SATURDAY: Trail Runs - Rope Swing/swimming at Gull Lake -Pew Pew - Brewery Pit Stop - Hot Springs - Beer & Bonfire

SUNDAY: Check out Bodie Ghost town - Relax at June Lake - Stop by Copper Top BBQ on my way home.

Sounds like a good plan. I like your style. I'm just going to take it as it comes and relax. I believe I read in some earlier posts that fire wood is available at the local stores. Correct? I would rather not lug the wood all the way from here.

Went from 3rd Gen Taco to 3GT4R to 2nd Gen Taco and finally a V8 4GT4R.
IDK if its just the angle or the picture itself but this doesn't look all too challenging...

How steep is the decline when coming around that turn? I feel like that would be the hardest part just getting caught up on there and dragging skids or something.

If you're not leaving HB until 6 or 7, then we won't be far behind you at all. If you're going to drive straight through, maybe we will too. Perhaps you can post up when you get to LP what you decide to do?

Also, for anyone who doesn't want to carry up a lot of water, there's a ranger station in downtown Bishop right on the hwy. They have a good water pump out front, so I'm just going to fill my containers up there as we pass through town.

Yeah you can buy firewood almost anywhere up there. would be best to pay a local firewood company to come drop some off, I'm looking into that.
