What kind of camper do you have?

I’ve heard of them before. Had one next to us at the campground this last weekend. Looked at one years ago at a RV show. Looks to be in good shape

 

Last camping trip 3 years ago before Taco life!!!
The golf cart in the shortbed was a stretch but airbags at 90lbs helped a lot!!

 

Been pulling one like that for 2 and a half seasons. After a little time behind the wheel, I feel pretty good.

 

I grew up in Pa just South of you. The elevation there is why I think you can pull the trailer a lot easier.
Where I live the elevation is over 5400 ft.
My favorite campground is over 8000 ft with an 8% grade to get there.
My neighbor said his tach stayed 4500 rpm the whole way up that grade.

 

I just finished pulling the Extreme version of this very camper out to Seattle and back. Truck pulled like a champ. The slowest i went was 45mph over Lookout Pass, which is a beast. Other than that had no issues pulling at 60mph. i did install a second A/T cooler and only broke 200 once. We really enjoy the camper layout and that is a good price for that model.

 

Took the Starcraft Satellite up to the mountains for a weekend trip. The Tacoma towed it like a champ, even with no WDH or sway control.

As far as the trailer, the wife and I absolutely love it. It’s a huge upgrade compared to the older and much heavier Puma.

 

I like it! Especially the ‘Optional Dachshunds’!!!

It was in better shape than I expected. Couple little fixes, nothing bad. Took it out once already a couple months ago and did well. It's a fun little thing!!

 

It is a rear bath floor plan. Kitchen is in the small slide.

So I'm looking at different travel trailers- never had one before so i'm not sure what brands are decent and which ones i should stay away from. I keep coming back to this Coachmen Clipper Ultra-Lite. Anyone have one of these? It's pretty light weight- 2700 lbs dry and has enough space for me, the wife and my 3 boys. Here it is-

I was thinking Rpod 179 but their R-clones as I call them landed them in court for design infringement. Maybe Forest River will buy Starcraft? The Satellites are nice campers too

 

Jayco has a very good reputation, and I believe to be the "best" in the industry. Coachmen has been around a while. With that said, every manufacturer has it's downsides, and flaws. This floorplan is very similar to my cousin in laws Coleman 17FQ, but the Coachmen seems higher quality. I know you need to keep an eye on your budget, but they kept their Coleman for a season and a half before they went bigger. And they were sleeping 5 like you are. Just my dueling pennies

Thats my max towing with my Taco as well despite its rating lol. What's your dry weight? Mine is just over 2500.
