Driving in traffic sucks period. No matter your transmission, whether it’s a Corolla or LFA, the sweet mods you put in - traffic is driver’s bane.

If that’s the cost I bear until finding that sweet open back road, so be it. But I couldn’t ever shortchange that feeling of euphoria over something as banal as traffic.

I hadn't owned a manual car/truck since about 2004, I'm hoping the novelty doesn't wear off and leave me regretting the 6MT, but so far I love it.

It's not bad at all in traffic as long is it's not totally dead stop and go over and over, it seems to be perfectly happy to chug along in 1st or 2nd gear.

Not surprised at all. I would be surprised if it stayed on track. I must purchase this truck now so I can hang out with all you sick fuckers

I finally test drove a MT Pro yesterday while taking my FJ in for service. That thing was smooth as hell. My only gripes were the shift knob design and reverse gear. I stalled out reversing up a curb back to its display platform. Maybe it's something one has to get used to on the truck?

Don't tell the wife. Get the exact truck in the exact configuration, just with a proper tranny. Wife will never notice.

That’s also a good point. The Tacoma rolls along at a lower RPM than my wife’s old mazda3, letting me stay in gear longer. If I’m careful with spacing in front, I can avoid dumping the clutch until there’s a standstill, which is good relief for the clutch knee.

I definitely needed to change technique with the long travel on both the clutch and shift. Now I almost prefer it to the 3. But that might be my mind conflating the truck’s extra 125 hp with the shift technique lol

That’s nothing I traded my 15 taco two years ago for a tundra, it was totaled so I thought I could drive this damn Chevy and after seven days it was time to decide either a new tundra or another Tacoma. And the winner is a 18 dcsb mt sport

Sadly, the MT is a dying breed.

Dooo it. I did after suffering in the auto for 50,000 miles. Only regret is that I didn’t do it from the start. The MT is fantastic

I think reverse in all the generations of Tacoma has sucked. I wish it was short like first gear is
