    Yeah I started doing this lately as well and I have steel 3/16 just to be safe. I place it right there at the first bend.

    A thing or two...
    There's a bulge on the crossmember behind the skid. I lifted from there before my skid. Now I just get the jack in about the same spot.

    I had an ato ifs and could jack from anywhere. It was 1/4" and didnt bend when using it as a jack point

    I was just thinking the same thing. I've got full BAMF skids and they'll support the truck anywhere

    depends on who makes yours, but with my mobtown ones I jack from anywhere on the skid.

    with LT you have to lift it pretty high to get a tire off the ground and it makes me a little leary of doing one side at a time. I have learned the hard way

    Even with my standard travel ass my floor jack won’t lift a tire off the frame. I have to do front center and lift them both at the same time.
