Picayune is very loose and the recent rains have probably loosened it further. I have friends with cabins up there that we use for skiing, I prefer to go up on skis. Raining hard enough here now to re-close US 550 about 11 miles N of Durango with run-off from the 416 fire.

What’s the best tool to use to cut the bedsides and fender flares for a high clearance bumper? I’m leery of using a grinder with a cut off wheel.

Straightest lines will come with a 4" angle grinder and cutoff wheel. You could try a sawzall but I don't think it would make very good lines.

    Might try a..

I have heard electric snips make a nice clean cut very easily. Have you heard anything about that? My concern with the grinder with cutoff wheel is heating things up too much and wrecking the paint along the cut.

Jake and me installing my Bruteforce in 2016. Tape, measure, draw line, measure, eye ball with one shoe on, cut, then measure again.
Brian @thefatkid is right. The 4inch grinder will cut the fender flare and fender at the same time for a cleaner cut.
You gonna need bodies to install that bumper once cut; hit me up and I'll help you out.

I'm in the same boat. FWIW I'm looking at mid 2000's Honda Accord 4 door 4 banger. Need the 4 doors for car seats. Those you can easily cover with your $5k. The closer to $5k you go the lower the miles will be.
I thought about going back to a motorcycle (I do miss my 929RR) but what if the truck is down for a week or two or longer. Kinda hard to shuttle groceries and truck parts (and my kids).

What’s up fellas. Been on this board for a while in and off. Finally dropped by to say hi. I’m down in Castle Rock. Been doing some upgrades to my ‘10 TRD Sport. Got the ditch lights installed yesterday

That was the day he bought/took Jake's original front bumper. Lot's a bumper action that day. <Insert bumper puns here>
