Makes me laugh when people have driven a manual for years and don't even know what floating gears means. I've owned one automatic ever in life and don't plan to own another. I love three pedals

Shifting gears and getting them to mesh smoothly without ever using the clutch, it's like double clutching but without the clutch. I can easily shift up by letting the RPM go down naturally between gears. Or I can go down by feathering, pulling it out of gear, and using the gas to get it to mesh with the next gear

Shifting without the clutch. Some transmissions are easier then others. Semi trucks don't have syncros so they don't need to clutch to shift. Like old transmissions with straight cut gears

Well if they don't rev match right they do. But in a transmission with straight cut gears and no syncros if you get the revs right the gears just mesh perfectly. It can be done in a synchromesh transmission too, but it can mess up the synchros if you do it badly a lot

You learn in your head the right amount of time and rpm to get everything to mesh up nicely. They're robust too so a tiny grind won't really matter and will still slide in. I'm pretty damn good at it, try shifting without the clutch, it isn't that hard to get a feel for.

My buddy drives a little Hyundai with a manual trans and I sometimes shift it into another gear when he's focused on the road. He's always like how did you do that.

I just don’t really drive it since nothing is bolted down and the gas gauge is broken. There’s no mirrors, or seatbelts, or any safety features. I run out of gas way too often.

Maybe I’ll call one of those Fuel delivery people.

I always gotta explain that when I teach people, they'll be worried say shifting to 3rd that they'll hit first, and ya gotta explain that while that's possible, it's gonna take wayyy more force and you'll know it's wrong. Not to mention the syncro will be screaming

You don’t understand, I can’t see behind me. The whole interior is in the back seat blocking my view. There’s also no bed, but I did zip tie the tail lights to the bumper.

There’s also no seatbelts since they were broken when I got the truck.
