Sup Phillip! Just got done with CERT train the trainer class. About to get some sleep. Little one crawled in bed this morning at 3am. Couldn’t’t go back to sleep after getting woke up. That and I didn’t have any room in the bed. Lol!

Lmao. I'm usually good with stuff like that but it still kind of got me.

I saw the nastiest thing at work the other day guy had an absess tooth and proceeded to try to pop it with a splinter out and then spit the remnants on to my paint room floor. I ran the fuck out gagging.

Yeah those guys stay busy up there. We average about a 2-3 hour turn around on our calls with the wait times in Columbus.

 

We get A LOT of pts(even ones that usually go to Montgomery and have all their docs there) from Care b/c they don't like to wait at Baptist. I think I'd like to stand around and wait......means you're not running calls

 

Yeah it's ok but we don't have the call volume that the city trucks do. I've waiting in Columbus before for 6 hours for a bed. Amazing how at one time if you came in after 5pm you'd be waiting till shift change for a bed and then 10 beds would magically open up all at once.

 

If they would make it to where you guys could deny a bullshit call, that would cut a lot of shit out. Some of the shit people call ambulances for is insane. They make me believe in gubment spay/neuter programs of people We have some "regulars" that use the ambulances as a fucking taxi service.

 

You know it. So much bs.

 

You would think that people would realize they are possibly taking away help from a true life/death situation. The people that could change the law will never know that feeling of hopelessness or be told "There's not an ambulance immediately available", b/c they have easy access to them and will never have to wait. It's a no win situation.

 

You are correct! They don’t care because it doesn’t affect them. This year we started a 12 refusal per year limit. After that they get charged $250 every time we come out and get a refusal. We get the same lift assist from the same people all the time. I can see every once in a while but when you are using us every time there’s a problem.

 

It's a waste of money and resources. I read an article that in London(I believe) they have what is basically a NP ride in the ambulance and basically treat and street from the vehicle. I didn't see any long term cost analysis, but it would be interesting to see.

As well the lynch mob thread, TW gonna TW with that. I've been on here 10 years and its just steadily gotten worse. As its been said, at what point does any of that become harassment? I would love for a lawyer member to jump in there one time and drop the law hammer on them but then he will get banned and the cycle will continue. But alas.......
