I know, if I did I wouldn't come back most likely. My good friend from highschool is moving to Colorado Springs this friday, so I'll always have someone to Visit!

Cool thanks man! Current setup works for local rides, but I want the bed side mounted/outboard mounts for camping trips when the bed is loaded up with gear (hopefully I’ll have time to build something before the downieville classic coming up in 2 weekends)

I'll make a new thread when I make a few, they are in my forester waiting to be drawn lol

If it was me, I'd weld tubes to the bars and then buy a bike tray like a Thule UpRide to mount.

so a center mount is better than a fork and rear tire mount?

well this one holds the front tire and a rear strap around the rear rim, IMO that's the best way to hold a bike, no contact with the frame

I was going to do that too. Angle to hold rear tire with strap. I have a fork mount for the front

for mount works, it's just annoying to take a filthy tire off after a long ass ride

Yeah.. I think I’m going the fork mount and rear tire strap route, not sure I want to spend $200 x 2 for a manufacturered rack, especially since I’ll only be using this when the bed is full (camp trips mostly). Taking the front tire off can be a pain in the ass but I won’t be doing it often.

I like the idea, but again the cost.. I think I’ll eventually go that route down the road when I get a high clearance bumper, but that’s pretty far down my list. Just need a (semi) cheap way to mount bikes outside of the bed while I’m camping/ traveling with bed full. Me and a buddy are gonna bend some metal at the shop this weekend and see if we can make something work. Anyone who has the bed rail/ bed side mounts: anything you would change? Anything that bothers you?

hahaha gonna clean them up, prime and paint them. I paid $200 for the setup and black wheels look sweet on the forester with the tint!

Yea man should be a decent look. Are you going to remove them from the rim or do the it the card deck way?

thicker metal (.25") or add angle that's welded to add stiffness.
