Very cool! At that price who cares if they only last 6 months. I run mine the entire time the truck is on. Fogs too.

Exactly. Why not run them all the time? Super easy, brighter than stock, looks good, at $37 I’ll be stoked if they last a couple years. But by then I’m sure there will be a better, cheaper option the tech is changing so fast.

Comprehensive review was only for the legitimate foglight options
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-led-sae-j583-fog-pod-fog-light-review.554813/

I will be comparing a few LED options, but I'll focus on best output rather than cheap price point. I also just got some new H11 LEDs that have not been mentioned in the thread, the manufacture is confident they will perform very well. We shall see.

I plan to also compare Halogens to LEDs to HIDs. Look what showed up yesterday, no more need to borrow a 3rd Gen! :)

The beam pattern there looks awful. My guess is this is a rotatable kit and that it is not positioned correctly.

Yes it looks terrible in the photo on that review that I linked to because in that review they were tested in a reflector housing not a projector like we have. The beam pattern and cutoff are actually really good. It would be interesting to see this budget option compared with the more expensive options...

I did my headlights .Interior map light and tag light...could not keep the dome light from blowing fuses...the map lights work good enough...the headlights low and hi beams are amazing

Any TW deals for Xenon Depot besides the everyday sale?

Right, I wasn’t referring to the projector. I just meant in the reflector pictured in that review, to which they rated the reflector pattern as very good. Projectors will obviously have clean cut offs.

If someone wants to send a set my way I’ll throw them in the comparison with the other LEDs. You can ship straight from Amazon so shipping to here costs nothing extra. I can send them back to the buyer when done for shipping cost.

Two sets of the H11 LED's with the heatsink fins. Got some faux pro lights (DEPO) that I'm putting in and want to do the lights at the same time. I like the fanless design. I'm in FL so heat is an issue, but they won't be on that long during daytime. Should be cooler at night.

Heat won't be an issue thanks to the design of the aluminum alloy leaf passive heat sinks which keeps the LED cooler in any climate.

So I made a boo boo guys. Things have just been hectic. Long story shot, my extra bulbs got packed and I won't see them for a couple months.

Maybe, if I get the time, I can meet with someone who still has the OEM bulbs...otherwise, it might be a while before I can do a good comparison.

Good news is, the initial pack-out is done and new house is still coming along nicely. I'm already looking at what LED bulbs I should get for that new house. :D

That’s great! I’ve also done a bunch of light testing for residential use. In the end these were my favorite bulbs, they have “360 degree” illumination unlike the others with plastic bases that really limit light projection, and high CRI. I measured them at 92 CRI. I’ve paired them against some far more expensive 98 CRI bulbs that are above consumer grade and prefer these. They are almost indistinguishable from an incandescent bulb.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll have to check them out! The tricky part is getting them to work with Alexa by installing my smart light switches. :D

I'm defintely glad prices of these house LED bulbs have come down over the past few years, cause I also remember when they were $25 a bulb (and they weren't smart bulbs either).

I have bought a 2018 Tacoma and was curious about LED light conversion.

I do apologize if this has been covered in this or any other thread but with 160+ pages I figured I’d just ask.

Has it been verified whether the led lights add brightness? Is it just perceived because the color temperature is typically higher on the led bulbs than hid?

    Thanks in advance!
