So I've been absent for a few weeks because I'm going through CFI training and it's kicking my butt. Here's some pics from the most recent trip I did. We had to dodge some small pop-up thunderstorms over southeastern Colorado and I saw this neat bright red Lear come in and show off a squeaker (I have a video but I can't upload it so here's a couple screenshots). Today, I was updating the IFR databases in my plane in preparation for the flight up to Oshkosh and check out what the thermometer showed. It's only supposed to get hotter the next 4 days!

The cool parts come few and far between. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone as a cool job. I should’ve taken some pictures of the 20’ shipping container I was loading large tents, frames and oil burning stoves into a few hours after that picture.

I don't really want to now that I've got a taste of corporate flying, but I probably will for a little while. It's good experience, decent pay, and will rack up hours quick.
    Everything has its drawbacks

Yeah, I'm currently doing cfi helicopter work. Will be doing cfi airplane work as well after the end of the month.

Flew the MAX the other day. It's not all that much different from the NG models, but it does take longer to start. It is also a lot quieter.

Longer to cool down too, right? Could you tell any difference in power?

We timed a start the other day at 2.5 min for one engine. I thoight the control feel felt a little better too. Overall I was very happy with it.

Okay DUMB question here. It looks as if the controls are the same from each seat and I get that but are there minor tweaks in controls for each side? :anonymous::crapstorm:

Hey, that's cool. I got to deliver a new MAX, 8719Q, end of last week. Loaded software at Boeing, then flew it to PHX for make-ready.

Not a dumb question really - For the most part the controls are identical because the pilots switch off who is flying each leg. But, like you said, there are differences. First officer side has a few disconnect switches that are only used during emergency checklists and the captain side has the tiller to steer on the ground.

That's pretty cool. Which airline do you work for, or deliver it to?

Nosewheel tire decided to roll itself off the wheel this morning... blah. Taxi'd out to the runway no issues. Got cleared to takeoff and plane wouldn't move. Had to get a tow back to the hangar :(

Justin, thanks for clarifying that I have been looking at the picture for a few days and did notice different buttons and knobs/switches overhead and console. I knew that in an emergency situation First officer would have other duties while the Capt concentrates on the safety of the passengers/crew and aircraft....

So i lurk here because i secretly want to fly but anywhere around me is either full, not accepting new comers, or is 3 hrs away....anyway had a question to see if you guys see it where you work or is it just made up.... i seen in the news that airlines are having a hard time filling pilot slots, are any of you guys experiencing any work than normal and is it worth getting into at this day and time? basically starting from Zero.

I work for SWA. 8719 is the newest MAX in the fleet and 8720 will be delivered on Tuesday.

    Impressive!
At least you were nicely on the centerline
What type of places are telling you they are full and not accepting newcomers? Airlines are losing a lot of pilots in the next 10 or so years that they need to replace. Just look at the numbers, it's pretty staggering. These numbers are based only off mandatory retirement at 65. It doesn't account for anyone who leaves early. https://www.airlinepilotforums.com/2314468-post3.html

17 hours on the hobbs meter from the trip up to Oshkosh and back! I got an awesome souvenir...a propstruck propeller blade! I'm going to make a base for it and put it in the corner of my room. Here's a couple pics
