I’m looking to replace my Toyo MT tires along with the TRD OR wheels in favor of the 4Runner wheels. Silly me should have planned ahead and bought the rims and tires at the same time due to the rim diameter difference.

Anyhow I have an opportunity to get the wheels at a stellar price and now I just need to source the tires. I think this time, due to the MPG loss, I’m not going the MT route as in the last 7k miles with them I have not needed them. I plan on going with the Tacoma bro “me too” wheels, KO2s.

Since every single one of you on here had these or contemplated these at some point where is the best place to source tires? My local dealer does a buy 3 get one for a $1 sale but it’s up in the air when that’s gonna be.

As for the wheels/tire combo I have now I plan on taking the TPMS sensors from old to new, what would be a good realistic number I could expect to sell them for?

It’s Toyo MT 265/75r16 with the factory OR wheels with vinyl wheel covers. I had them installed at ~2200k mi and currently at ~9400k mi been on since last October.

Pic attached for reference to the wheels and tire combo I have now.

I always bought from tirerack. Just because it usually takes them two days to ship and they always have the most selection.

I got my last set of tires from Discount Tire Direct via eBay.. it was around a holiday so they had a few deals at the time, including a discount off the price and some VISA gift cards. I’d check their eBay around Labor Day for sales

Tirebuyer on EBay usually have the best deals and they periodically have promotions of $50-$75 off depending on the tire brand

Thanks guys I’ll give these a look around. I’m not quick to jump on the first few places google turns up since that’s an easy way to bait those who know no better.

What about thoughts on value of my current set up? I’m thinking asking 1500 for the set and going from there

Think you are shooting a little high there, most Off Road wheel and factory tire combos are going for $600 and under so I’d say realistically $1k would be what you might be able to get or lower. The rims are easily available so it’s a pretty flooded market.

My thought process is this, I know I need X amount to be in a good spot. What is the FIRST thing people ask about price? “Can you take xy for it? So if I shoot a bit high then they fall about where I want to be.

I figured this since it’s about $250 a tire new. I guess I’ll see soon.

Discount will match pretty much anyone. I would stick with local shops in case you have problems.

Well the OR wheels you will get $600-$800

The tires I’m not sure, maybe $400

The question comes down to whether someone is willing to pay it

400 seems awful low for the tires. That’s well below half and with minimal use.

I guess time will tell when a I can source my tires and sell the old ones. Thanks!

Ya but it comes downs to what people will pay.

Put them up on Craigslist. Some people will just want a tire but at a certain price point people will just buy new and the tire they want.

When the time comes I have a lot of faith in my states Tacoma forum on Facebook. Last time I tried to sell tires on Craigslist I was dumbfounded on what peopl are willing to do to waste time.

I was able to sell my stock Goodyear’s with similar mileage for $450, you’ve gotta be able to get more for those MTs

Most people don't know...but Discount tire will beat ANY price, paper add, internet add, even Ebay price. Also, they offer free rotation and tire repairs free to anyone. If you have NEVER stepped foot in a Discount tire before, and you drive in on a flat, they will fix for no charge. That kind of business goes miles with me. I also had purchased a set of tires for my truck, drove them for 2 weeks and determined they were too hard and bouncy, they swapped them out with a lighter tire for no charge. Didn't even charge me for the re-mount and balance. Figure out what tire tir want, shop till you can't handle it, then go to Discount for the win.

I also have the Bro wheels with 285 KO2’s picked them up used with 2k on the tires for $1,250. It all depends on who’s willing to snatch your old set at a good price or if they want to haggle.
I actually need to post my original OR wheels with 265/75 Falken ATW3’s with 7k miles which I will post for $1,200 on go from there.

I've had great experiences with discount tire as well. They matched the pricing of tires from the discount tire ebay store with the ebay 20% coupon applied. They even mounted and balanced my spare that i ended up getting a few weeks later free of charge.

I'd recommend them if they are in your area.

If i remember right i sold my old stock tires with 14k miles on them for $300 or 350 instantly on craigslist, probably 2 hours from when i posted to when i had cash in hand.
