New England B.S. Thread

So, half of my lift came in. The rear shocks. I thought the Bilstein 5160’s came with a shock boot to protect the rod, but they do not. Any suggestions? I don’t want to leave it bare. What do you guys use?

 

Mine didn't come with one either.

Damn that looks fun as hell, is there information online where I can find out where the trails are and stuff, are they class VIs?

 

NH is the best state in New England I think for trails. Certainly better than MA

Move north, plenty of machine shops near me.

 

The boots tend to just hold dirt I ended up cutting mine off

So looks like I’m actually better off not putting anything on I guess.

 

I put them on a motorcycle once and like you say they hold the dirt in really well but even worse, the moisture. It never goes away and the seals get trashed from the dirt and the rust forming on the shaft. Never again.

 

We rented from Northeast snowmobile rentals in Gorham New Hampshire I think there's a map on their website and they are not class 6 roads

If you really want boots, you can get them aftermarket. My new Ranchos have them but, like others have said, they get mixed reviews. The Ranchos have a lifetime warranty so I figured I’d run the boots and, if I have issues, let Rancho deal with it.

Be pretty sketchy driving across a bridge you can't see!! But if you do @mach1man001 please film it so we can put any negative results in the WTF thread. Just remember the rules we go by driving on the ice for fishing- door slightly ajar, windows down, no seatbelt!
