I'd crack open the small batch. Frankly, I'd crack open any of them, but there will be no shortage of the small batch since it is a blend of available barrels anyways and, as mentioned, a very tiny percentage of inventory was lost. If there are any to maybe save, it is the Full Proof and the single barrel as those would be the first to suffer from a loss of inventory.

That said, I have a store pick full proof on the shelf and it is absolutely going to be opened :D.

I opened it Friday night lol.

It was pretty good, not sure what the bottle cost since it was a gift.

I'm sure they're not running out of inventory after reading a couple articles about it. They had like 30 other warehouses full

I can get it pretty easily in these parts, too. If you want me to send you one for cost + shipping, let me know and I'll hook it up!

The only reliable place I can find it is at a store that charges $70 for a 1L bottle. Retail is only about $30-35 for that size, but secondary is around $120.

I go 'hunting' all the time, though. I'll let you know if I come across anything.

Sure thing! I have 'my guy' that I go to most of the time and he usually has the Small Batch and the Straight Rye (I think). His prices are always a couple of bucks higher or lower than the big box stores, so it's a fair price. I can't remember off hand, though. I'll let you know when I see him next.

I'd be down for both, depending on cost. If you are able, let me know the $ and I'll get back to you asap. $120 is out of my range (crazy that retail is 1/4 that and people pay that markup).

TRD Off Road sticker. Not the whole package, just the sticker.
cwc.jpg First post on this thread so I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this whiskey. It is my favorite but I dont see many places outside of Chattanooga that have it.

So...I've got a question for you more advanced bourbon snobs. My local liquor store told me, yesterday, that they just got in a barrel of Blantons and a barrel of Buffalo Trace. What does that actually mean?? Will they have to put it in bottles themselves or does it mean that they got a whole barrel's worth (already bottled)?? I drink bourbon everyday, but I don't know the answer to this one because it's never come up in conversation before.

Barrel Proof means that it was bottled directly from the barrel, maybe with some filtering. But no water was added to achieve a lower consistent proof. They are usually hard to come by. Personally I would love to have one of each as you described.

What the owner said was, "We just got in our own barrel of Blantons and also a barrel of Buffalo Trace."
It didn't hit me at first, but later, when I thought about it, I was confused. I don't think she meant "barrel proof". I know what that is. I will be back in there in a couple of days and I will ask.

I've never been much of a scotch or whiskey guy but I recently did a flooring job for a friend who paid me with these three bottles. Supposedly they are pretty good. I am attempting to learn to appreciate their taste!

Damn, that's an old bottle of Laphroaig; he must not have liked it much

Edit- Start with the Glenmorangie, it's milder.

Ok...so what I found out is that the liquor store would commit to buy a whole barrel from Buffalo Trace (they make both Blantons and Buffalo Trace), when it's ready, Buffalo Trace bottles it up and ships the cases to them. It's really just buying in bulk and would ensure that every bottle that the store has came from the same barrel.

Buffalo Trace is probably my all-around favorite bourbon. The local liquor store that I frequent recently got in their own selected barrel of Buffalo Trace. It's pretty cool to have Single Barrel Select of BT. The most surprising part of it was that they aren't charging a premium for it. $25 for a .750 I shall partake tonight!
