I'm not suggested driving around on a regular basis with the parts store brands, but if you want to have one just as a spare, and you don't have a stack of OEM ones laying around, a cheap $50 CV might not be a bad plan.

How many CVs do you go through?

$20 an hour in Cali wont even get you enough to finance a cheeseburger

@jbrandt I've killed two Napa axles and an Orielly before I learned my lesson. The OEM ones dont break anywhere near as easily. I've got about 7 oem ones I've scrounged up now

I'm fairly lazy and don't shave until my wife stops kissing me, but that's mostly dirt. I've had the goat since freshman year of college.

    Here's a cleaner picture:

    Let's have a race, then.

    I pick the trail, though.

Reminds me of the Tundra commercial (might be a T100??) where he drags a Lotus...

SAS done right is expensive on these trucks. You basically have to cut the whole front frame off and rebuild it to get the right mounting points and clearanace or they sit too high and goofy. Leafs aren't worth that effort. Coilovers and links are but then it is still solid axle and I can't go as fast as I like to comfortably. I'd like a beefier IFS axle set and diff though. Otherwise I'm happy with my performance and handling. Just break some CVs now and again, I've only killed one OEM one and that was from the boot breaking and it getting really gritty.

Besides, I already own a solid axle triple locked cruiser if I decide I want to play in the rocks exclusively

You've broken more CVs than anyone I've encountered. You must have an intimate relationship with the skinny pedal. :boink:

What you need is a truck for every day of the week. LT SUA 2wd pre-runner, rock buggy, overlander, etc...
