Pelfreybilt Standard Rear Bumper 3rd Gen

I am on the fence about getting a Pelfreybilt Standard rear bumper. Who has one on their 3rd gen. Post up some pictures if you do. Not a ton on Google that I came across.

We have plenty of customers with them, they typically hang out in our vendor section of the forum though. I will see if I have anything on the desktop!

 

Why are you on the fence? A bumper is typically one of those things you either need or don't need

To be fair we are about to redesign it so we can more closely match the lines of the third gen.

 

Placed the order last week. I've got a 8 week lead time now is what I was told. Now I just sit and wait!

So I will be getting the one pictured above right? Not a redesigned?

 

Yes, the redesign is going to be a little ways from now especially since we already have so many pre orders. (mostly for the new dual gate version)

 

And with the BSM?!? I hate a troll but I feel the strong urge to on this point. Still love being being pelfreybilt family just want it to grow.

 

Will likely not ever do the BSM as a lot of other companies arent either. Their location on the bumper would require modification that would compromise the integrity if we added another material or hole to that spot. Then there is the issue with the BSM system not being covered under warranty with after market parts and the 300$ a piece re-calibration they charge. Then you move onto the liability issue with people becoming more dependent on technology. Someone doesn't use their side mirrors because the BSM will "save" them and rams into someone because it isn't working and sues us because the bumper is the reason. It probably isn't the reason, their sensor probably did function correctly but with today's society, and people being to sue happy, its not worth the risk. We arent ARB and one good lawsuit would be the end for us, and just about any other manufacturer out there.

Even though we would like to have the option for everyone to do everything imaginable, it just isnt worth it.

 

What is BSM? I was going to tag @Tombiology70 but it looks like his truck has already been posted up!

Got an email this morning that my bumper is done and being sent to powder coating. That was the fastest 8 weeks ever!
