Shop says truck is fixed! Thank goodness. What a nightmare of an ordeal.

Confirmed that they've tested 2HI/4HI/4LO and it switches fine between all driving modes.

I'm still out of town for a few days, but will try to pick up the truck late Friday eve.

    Phew!

    Happy it worked out.
(I still don't have a good idea how the TC actuator got broken exactly, so there is always stuff to learn....)

I'm also not totally clear on that, but so long as the truck works as it should, I'm happy. Can't wait to get it back on Friday. It's crazy how emotionally invested I am in this vehicle.

Is the transfer case and other parts covered under warranty or is the shop that installed the new gears going to pay for it?

Technically still under warranty, but practically, the shop caused the problems, so warranty doesn't really apply. Shop covered all costs.
