First time Tacoma owner

Recently purchased my first truck, 2018 Tacoma TRD Sport in Midnight Black. I’m looking to see pictures of other black Tacomas and suggestions of any mods to start with for a first time truck owner.

Nice truck! Get an OEM bed mat for your first “mod”. Best 95$ I’ve spent in my truck.

The best mod that you can do is get the hell away from TW if you like your wallet. This place is dangerous.

What I did was to get rid of as much chrome as possible on my Sport.
-- Plastidip the grille
-- @rrentrop has a matte sticker set to cover the interior chrome
-- @mesojdm has some fourth gen mirror signals launching soon. Brighter than stock with a matching smoke lens.
-- Debadge or Plastidip them

Also, I had a fog light break. They're glass. Get a set of Lamin-X protectors for them. They have a few colors including clear, light smoke, and dark smoke. The dark smoke will decrease output a bit. Consider re-aiming the stockers as they are set to point toward the ground from the factory. Leveling them really helps.

Thank you! I’m not too sure yet, this is The first truck I’ve ever owned so I’ve been looking around on here for ideas. Definitely thinking about a new grill to start.

 

One of the first mods I did was upgrade the interior bulbs to LEDs. Overhead, map lights and vanity mirror. Easy, inexpensive and much better lighting.

 

Grille is a must

Welcome and I agree with @StoicBeau get the bed mat. You won't regreat the investment.

 

Seriously, the stock speakers are a joke. Sooooo worth the $200ish..

 

Welcome and congrats on your first Tacoma! First mod should be changing all bulbs to LED.

I would suggest just take some time to enjoy the new ride.

Find a regional TW thread and lurk for awhile. Subscribe to the 3rd gen forum to see what is new or interesting.

And last, fluid film is really good for undercarriage rust protection.

If you think the stock speakers are trash in the Tacoma you wouldn’t be able to imagine how awful mine were in my 2016 Wrangler. My god. Makes the Tacoma speakers sound like a 2k dollar custom unit.

 

Where in NY are you located? Looks like upstate rural farm country. If you decide to change grills I'd be interested in yours.
