Have any of you tried optimum no rinse? It is really easy to wash a truck without having to rinse it before or after. Here is my clients jeep using the no rinse method.

That kit is for matte paint jobs not wheels.

As stated I like their Diablo Wheel gel. I use that with a bucket of warm water to clean the wheels.
I have their wooly brush and the soft bristled wheel brush. They work great for a painted matte wheel surface. On matte wheels you don’t want to use aggressive brushes.

Just simply doing that keeps my wheels incredibly clean.

Every 3rd wash I’ll spray the wheels down with tge Decon prior to cleaning to help get rid if any embedded brake dust that will ruin my finish.

You’ll be set with their brushes, the gel, and an extra bucket just for cleaning your wheels.

It pay to get quality products for your wheels. Embedded brake dust requires a concious effort to remove and not getting it off will gaurentee your wheels will carrode and peel. So even if its a trail rig I think its worth the few extra bucks.

 

I have another rinseless wash that I use during the winter when it’s too cold for a hose. I hope you tried to spray some of the grime off before you started. Looks fairly dirty.

 

I've always been amazed at how many times I have seen people shit on Diablo Gel. Not sure if it's just cool to shit on CG's stuff or people are expecting it to clean severely neglected wheels by simply spraying it on and rinse off. I generally don't let more than a month go by without cleaning the wheels and it even does a pretty good job on the tires too. Not a fan of needing 10 different bottles of shit just to wash the truck.

Besides it smells like bubble gum, rather than some horrid solvent like most wheel cleaners.

You are right too. Most people completely neglect their wheels. Wheels MUST be washed by hand and with products that remove brake dust. If not the finish of the wheel will degrade.
Most people wait years until the brake dust starts corroding and turning red/brown and by that time it’s pretty much in the finish of the wheel and they’ll complain a product won’t get it out by just spraying on and washing off.

 

All I use. Makes life easy when there is no outside water spout.

 

Spot on, so many folks don't even think about their rims. I use SONAX Wheel Cleaner Full Effect, P21S Wheel Cleaner, and Stay Fresh Wheel Cleaner with my Wheel Woolie that I have from my days at ProperAutoCare who brought this brush to market before anyone knew about it.

 

For the average user, I see a lot of feedback on Adams and Shinesupply. Is one better than the other for simple use (no paint correction, just simply wash stuff)?

 

Nope. I have used both. Both are solid products.

I guess something stronger than a spray wax that will repel brake dust, road grime, etc.

 

I’ve been using CarPro Hydro2 on my way wheels and it does a decent job. You have to reapply every other month but it’s easy. Just spray on and hose off.
