I'm planning on putting an ARB front bumper on, no winch as of yet.

If you want 3” of lift I’d upgrade now. I have mine set for 2” and I still wish I’d upgraded.

So would you say a 650# coil or 700#? 700 seems a bit over kill, I don't want the coils making the rebound harsh, if that's even a thing o_O

I have an ARB up front and my icons (and king springs) ride like a Cadillac. I wouldn’t tell you not to buy Fox, King or ADS - they’re all going to be great. I do love the ride on my icon setup.

See if you can find some guys nearby who can let you take a spin on their setup. Where are you located?

If you’re getting the ARB get 700# springs. If you absolutely want to run a 650lb spring you’ll need a 14” spring - 13x650 isn’t great for that application.

Friend of mine I work with grew up there.

I'd ask in the Fox Life thread, a lot of guys going for the 3" lift have upgraded to the 700#

@HeadStrong Off-Road might be able to give you some good advice too

Just read through his whole thread about Icons, it seems that with the Icons you need the 14x650 or 14x700 coils and a good amount of weight?

Digressive shocks will be stiffer at first at low speed bumps so they will feel harsher at first and then blow off at higher shaft speeds. Progressive are the opposite and get stiffer as the hits get harder so you don’t bottom out. I still feel jolts with my fox suspension but they soak bumps up better than the bilsteins they replaced. I have the stock 13” 600lb coils and have 2.5” lift with an additional 120lbs up front. I also have the adjusters which helps since these coils are valves very soft and can be bouncy.

Are you adding or have a winch, or just the ARB?

Just the bumper for now, I'm curious as to how much lift I would get with the Fox 2.5s with the 14"x650# coils, my truck being an extended cab and not a double.

You would be fine with 650lb coils. 700lb coils are for some serious weight up front.

You’ll be fine with 14” 650lb coils... not 13” 650lb coils. It’s too much preload for 13” springs.

If ride height stays the same it’s not going to matter if the coil is 13” or 14”, they will have the same preload.
