How would you know they applied the TSB if they said it was done?
Is there a way to check before and after the TSB numbers?

Not sure but youd feel it right away.
I had the first 2 rev updates done just off of my complaints not test drives to replicate it. Each stealership is different

Curious, can we apply this update via tech stream at home?

Called my purchasing dealership on Saturday and they told me the same thing. The wife and I drove over to another dealership to look at a 4Runner for her and I ask them about it. They drove it and said "could not duplicate" and would not install it. Seems I am 0 for 2....

taking mine in wensday, oil change and have this tsp done, i had a previous tsp done with no questions asked, i will take tsp with me like last time and tell them i have the symptons, but mostly in the morning when i leave for work when tranny is cold, after a 45 min ride to dealership, they cant replicate with a hot tranny, they also applied a sticker under the hood stating what rev level it is

OBD dongle/software. I use the Carista dongle and OBD fusion (for IOS). You can see the calibration ID, so all you have to do is match it up with the "new" ID stated in the TSB (04B04).

That and you should be able to tell the difference in the way it drives. Just be aware that flashing the ECM will reset the learned values, fuel trims, etc etc etc.. so the truck will have to go to school all over again. That alone will make it feel different for a while.

See my post #66 above. At that point, tell the service advisor you'd like to go for a ride with the technician and then after they get them standing there next to you advise the service advisor you'll have him back in a few hours...the drive to the mountains and back will take that long, since you know in order to replicate it you have to be at "high altitude." Only fair that you apply what TOYOTA STATES in their TSB. I imagine you'll get the TSB then.

Good question. I have the service sheet saying they did it. They didn't apply an updated sticker as per the TSB.

The truck didn't stall on me leaving the dealership while giving WOT hopping into traffic but it didn't happen everytime before the TSB either. I can see the RPM needle briefly pause around 1500 RPM while giving WOT from a stand still. Time will tell I guess.

I will be calling my dealership on the way home to make an appointment to have 0062-18 completed on my 18 TRD Sport. Will report back once I speak with my dealer.

Just got my done today @ the SoCal Longo Toyota dealership in El Monte. I have 18' Tacoma so they only applied T-SB-0062-18. I can definitely feel the difference in driving, soon as I picked up my truck. The gear shifting just seems to be a lot more smoother now.

I still want to get the OVTunes, however I don't know if it'll be worth it since this tsb update.

I definitely have it. In a big city like Dallas, Tx with crazy drivers everywhere, the current engine behavior is simply put, dangerous.

I am utterly astonished they arent just applying the new ecu firmware whenever people are asking for it. Only advise i can give i to ask the service advisor for the contact information for the regional toyta service advisor. if that doesnt work then open a case with toyota corp. if that doesnt work i know ovtune is going to work the latest firmware into his next release.

It's a software update.... Like updating your phone or computer software. Regardless of them being able to duplicate issue or not they have to do it.

Wait. So they did do the update or they didn't and just told you to turn off traction control?

When I first brought it in (2 months ago) they initially played the bigger tires/lift is causing it. Service advisor drove it and confirmed that it bogs down when you really give it gas to get out into traffic. Said the logs show that the skid control ecu was limiting power to the wheels in these situations. Remedy was to disable traction control (which did work).

TSB was released and brought it back. They performed the new ecm calibration and it hasn't bogged on me yet. There is a slight hesitation when going WOT around 1500 rpm but its very brief.
