Deal. I will definitely bring a couple boards if there is gonna be surf. Forecast is looking dismal for the next two weeks. Summer time blues, warm water, no waves. I pretty much called in sick the last three days and surfed 4 hours each day. My body feels like it has been put in a trash compactor. It got up to 12 ft on the face last night. Super stoked! FYI I wouldn't take you out in big surf, I'm not a complete asshole.

Figure the basket is about 300 right now on Amazon. another 140 for the extension, tracks if you dont have them run about 130 and then another 50 or 60 for the locking covers - so around 600. cheaper baskets out there of course. baja baskets i believe are a little more low profile vs yakima.

really want to do it right, go look at Prinsu.

Knowing is a good start haha. I swam competitively when I was younger, up until highschool. I hated it, and vowed to never swim again I hated it so much. Then alas I found surfing, and am a bit of a fish, and my swimming background has saved my life a few times. The ocean is a different beast and requires respect, but like I said, if you wanna get in the water I will help out and make it safe.

I have a chest freezer and a stand up freezer full of cow. Bare in mind I have 3 freezers. The 3rd one is full of bass, bluegill, deer and half an elk. The freezer on the fridge is full of random stuff like veggies, some bread, bacon, sausage and ice cream lol

In norcal, you need a good wetsuit, and just buy a used board. I could tell you the spots to go to to learn. It is never warm as far as water temps go in your neck of the woods due to the humbolt current, but the waves are incredibly impressive up there. It is less expensive than a car part buying habit. But a good wetsuit will set you back $400. You can pick up a decent used board for 300 or less. Best to just get a costco foamy 8fter and surf it till it breaks, take it to costco say this thing broke, they give you a new one or your money back.
