I've seen the work from the Murfreesboro dealer and thought it was pretty good. However, when I looked into having my skid plate Line-X'd their price was rather high!

Seen plenty of badlands last up to the abuse. Seen many fail to. But I can say the same with warn. Only warn I will own is their old stuff. That's my opinion though. However band for buck I will take a new engo winch with synthetic line over a warm every time.

FWIW the tractors that move 250,000+lb aircraft at my work all have warns in them, and those are the only ones we will spec.

My firstwinch was a Warn #8000 of 1973 vintage. Strong winch for rating but not nearly as waterproof as the newer ones. 15000 lb I had on my goodeneck trailer (new in 2002) withstood more use and abuse than any 10 4wd mounted winches ever will.

I'll go with the newer ones....

Pulling 4000 lb trucks is childs play compared to dragging 15000 dead farm tractors out of muddy fields.

Some people can break half a brick. Anything can be broken.

The guy at local Harbor Frieght told me that Badlands has about a 40% retun rate at his store. That's just not acceptable to me.

TRD Off Road sticker. Not the whole package, just the sticker.
I guess with bad lands its hit or miss. I've heard a lot of bad about them. But my only experience with one was at a company I used to work for. We used that thing almost daily to literally drag a 35' scissor lift (+5000lb) onto a trailer. The ramp had too steep of an angle and the lift would bottom out as soon as the first wheels were over the hump. The bosses solution was to get a cheap winch instead of the proper tilt back trailer. We abused the shit out of that thing, never maintance it, and it set outside in the rain 24/7. In the 2 years I worked there, we had no issues. It always worked perfect. That was about 5 years ago and I know other door techs that still work there and use that winch.

Replacing his $1200 winch with a $750 winch that he is shilling on his comp crawling focused website....real relateable to the recreational wheeler...and I'm sure that there's no sponsor money exchanging hands there. :jerkoff:

And nothing like the unbiased truths of a man trying to make his fortune by slamming a proven competitor in order to promote his relatively unproven product

    Come-up is far from unproven
Disclaimer: I'm too cheap to buy either, smitty here.

They're still in the novelty class in the US. Just not enough sold to really be regarded as an established brand here.

Quick....without looking it up where are the three nearest authorized service and warranty centers for Come-Up?

I can tell you where they are for Warn and Smittybilt in my area. Can get almost immediate service for either. Those are the only brands in consideration when I bought the winch on my Tacoma. The Warn on my FJ is the same exact brand and model. Redundancy is like magic when maintaining anything mechanical.

I wont try to say ANY brand is right for everyone. But I'm 110% pleased with Warn. Being "cheap" is not a prerequisite for me...and I stick with what I KNOW works rather than the novelty brands.

Anything mechanical can break. If it takes an eternity to get it fixed, just how much of a bargain is it?

The 16s will, but the 15s probably wont clear your calipers.

Also, they have 3/4” more BS. 4.5” compared to the 2nd gen 5.25”
