What are you planning to do for current owners of this grille? The TSS on my '18 never worked right with this grille installed, using your previous sensor mount.

Once I get this TSS sensor figured out I'd be happy to just send you out a new one on me. For the time being, I think a thinner piece of acrylic is one way to make the mount you have work better. I am working on finding a 2018 to test out on locally.

Also if enough people are in for the mesh and the mesh successfully works with the tss I would be happy to discount it for you and send you one.

So you're planning on two new TSS mounts? One mesh mount and something else?

Ideally two options yes. It would be the mesh mount and either improve the current system or a totally new mount.

Actually, should the TSS issue get solved, I'd like to switch to option 3.

So I think that I'll be able to have enough people in for a group buy and am really looking at pooling this together soon.

I was doing some more R&D in the garage this weekend and think this mesh could be a legit option for the tss. Only thing is trying to figure out the cost for this mesh. To prevent rust its likely going to need to be powder-coated. The cost for this option could add up pretty quick but I haven't got any quotes on what it would cost to have this cut out and powder coated yet. On the ones I've made so far I've been using plasti-dip and it's actually working pretty well.
Would you guys care if it didn't come powder coated or was just plasti-dip if it saved some cash? Would love to know you're thoughts or any suggestions.

Id be in for option 3, but it has to have no error codes and all mounting hardware included, in other words 100% plug and play for '18 Tacoma with the TSS.

    GET 'ER DONE!!

If you're still looking for interest, I'm up for option #1.

Yeah, I pretty much agree this sums it up. I probably would add the powder coating in lieu of the plastidip. I don't want to deal once it begins to peel down the road. (no pun intended).

Curious to see how it would look on mine. Live in Anaheim with a 2018.

@ChoyotaChocoma thank you so much for the help. I actually was able to find a guy this weekend and did the first round of testing with the mesh and it worked. Although in the near future I will probably be needing to do some more testing. Thanks again I’ll reach out sometime soon.

No worries! Let me know! A different grill option provided is very much appreciated, especially one that looks great.

Make sure to test it in the rain. Before I had the xtec grill it only said that it was unavailable or need to clean or whatever it says like once when it had ice and snow built up on it. Never in the rain. Now whenever it rains, I get that error. Almost annoying enough to switch back to something else. Not sure if it is the placement or what the deal is.
