Amy stereo guros?

Can a remote wire go bad? Lost conection to my sub/amp. When i jump the remote with the power it goes. Should i replace the whole line?

 

Did you check continuity with a meter on the remote wire? I'd do that before replacing it. Does it have and sharp bends or spots it may have gotten pinched and broken? I just googled and it says could be the head unit? Does head unit work OK? I assume no problems ther. Good luck.

 

How many times are you fixing the cross member bolts... sounds like too many.

Head unit is working good. Its just the amp/sub. You know what, i may habe pinched the line somewhere. Ill have to double check tonight after work

Put a meter on the remote wire coming out of the head unit. Turn unit on and if you’ve got 12 volts it’s most likely the wire between there and the amp. If you don’t then it’s the head unit.

 

Cool. Ill swing by harbor freight and pick one up. I dont think i have one.

What a pain in the ass. I just had the dash apart last night replacing an ac light that had gone out

 

could be an inline fuse right off the back of head unit. Check owners manual for wire diagram or pull the head out and look. since you should be doing that to check for power there anyway.
If there is a fuse and its blown the wire between to head and Amp probably has a short.

 

Im thinking i may have frayed a wire. Might be a saturday job. I was trying to find it last night in the dark..lol

Yea I'm off at 7 tonight, I have wire if you end up needing to rerun a remote wire.

when we doing that? Im buying a spindle this Saturday. Way to much play in the driver side. I'll have to get a new wheel bearing too. I'll have a shop press that fucker in
