What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Did some trial flexing with my new setup and then some light wheeling because “box canyon” is apparently closed? Locked gates blocking it off. . Sliced up my driver tire thanks to the pinch seam behind it that needs to be hammered flat (but it was already ground down and filed).

Then, realized my retrofitted projector shroud fell off (it was only JB welded before) I never bought the proper shroud mounting rings and I went too fast on the trail without airing down IMO, so there were more vibrations than normal. Will fix it soon.

Doesn't air enter from the drivers side? Maybe zip tie some old t-shirt over it unless there's a post on removing that plastic cowling.

 

The space seems relatively open to me. Not necessarily drivers side. Maybe the main intake is over there, but it's pulling air (and debris) from the entire cowl space.

I coincidentally need to remove the cowl plastic to fix the lower windshield trim strip. Bet someone here has already documented that though. If I see an easy way to screen-off the necessary space with silicone and some screen material I'll search/share.

 

Good to see another from Portland... I know what your talking about with the trees. I have a reusable cabin filter that I clean every month.

You're right, it wouldnt do any good to filter one area and have the crap enter through another. I just hope you don't have to pull the wipers to get it off.

Pushed her a little hard the other day. She wasn't slammed, but she was flexing a bit. Here is a before picture in comparison. And she needs a much needed detail/bath!

 

Definitely better stopping than stock. I had put these on my last truck too which is why I went with them again.

 

Should you ever decide to go with UCAs, take a look at the Camburgs as they have greasable ball joints....

 

Regular JB Weld or SteelStik? I use SteelStik to repair plumbing and I've never seen it let go. That stuff pretty much sticks to anything.
