Got an email from my best friend that is handling my case against the insurance over my TJ. They have totaled it. They even offered to let me keep my TJ with a clean title. He's seeing who's gonna be stuck with the shop bill. I'm not, so just have to wait and see. I may splurge and buy the Taco a little somethin SOS sliders would be nice.

Instead of doing things ass backwards you could just re-gear before 35s and daily drive it

Will not do 35s without having a re-geared clamshell and 3rd member in my garage ready to go into the truck.

 

on our trucks some people will go to 4.88 with 33's but with a 6speed we have dual overdrive.

 

I am getting 18 MPG as of now. I don't carry enough constant weight to benefit from a regear on 33s

 

I would've probably waited had I not already needed tires, and since the truck is going to sit more I'll be able to hold off on gears for a while. @Acerwin did it no problemo

 

Got the skids hung up and painted last night. Probably install them on the truck in a few days once the paint is all the way dry. The pic is before they were painted. They look better now

Howdy folks. Newbie in Huntsville here.
Got a DCLB off road not long ago, and finally getting around to taking it out (still stock, except remote start).

Planning to take the wife to Bankhead Saturday afternoon, and camp to ride more Sunday.
Anyone have some advice about good trails to hit around there that won't wreck a stock truck?

you've got quite a few of us in this area just so you know.

I can provide little to no advice on trails for a stock truck around here, but I have a feeling you won't be stock much longer if you stay around!

 

Id be willing to cover $$ for another sheet for you to "practice" with and knock out a 4Runner front skid

 

why? did you hit a curb in the mall parking lot recently?
