Hope to have more night shots soon. As production gets going we also hope to have some units to demo at shows.

Those prices are for the new Laser/LED Combo Bars, aka extra baller race trucks.

In my experience, the standard offerings (even down into the sport squadrons) offer much better performance for each size due to better optics and usage of the available lumens.

Less goes further with Baja. I've got less than $1500 into equipping 2 rigs total.

Be careful man...a BD light can ruin everything else for ya. Only stuff I run for mine as their light output is just that good IMO.

Yep, it becomes a slippery slope as that is all you want to run once you buy a set... nothing else compares.

Exactly man, especially if you roll with some speed when you wheel these lights can keep up.

So I was searching and couldn't find this info. Bailey (@Baja Designs ) I know the amp draw per 10" section of a S8 is 3.3A....but what is the amp draw for the amber back lighting and can that just be tapped into the Tacoma DRL circuit without overloading anything? I've got a 20" S8 coming with my SSO Slimline bumper and I just want to make sure I've got everything planned out before it arrives (I've got plenty of time).

To be safe you can always just run a relay between the backlights and the DRL’s to keep any draw off the DRL’s and just use it as a trigger.

So wait would this be engaged when you turn on your lights? Wasn't sure since you are tapping into the existing DRL light. I have a 20" S8 in mine that I used the switch/harness that BD offers without any issue.

Yeah I want the amber back lighting to turn on with the DRL. I'd keep the actual light bar on a separate switch.
I might end up doing this anyway since I think the DRL dims down when the actual headlights are turned on (not sure on that, I need to do more research).

The Amber Backlight is less than .50A per 10" section. Your electrical system will barely know it's there :)

Speaking of wire gauge - I just wired up a 40” S8 with 16 awg. Should I have gone with 14 awg?

We recommend 12 awg for our S8 and OnX6 Light Bars. You may experience flickering or poor performance due to power loss.

    Hey @Baja Designs , quick question(s).

I'm working on integrating my new XL Sports into my wiring harness setup and I had been using 16-14 gauge Deutsch connectors on everything...

The wire coming out of my XL's is much larger gauge though, I think it's 12ga? Point is, my little 16-14 crimp on DT terminals don't look like they would be a secure fit on this.

    So then,
    • Can you confirm that the XL's wiring is 12ga? As long as I can confirm the size I can just order a different style connector that does larger gauge.
    • Since the amp draw per light is 1.5/20W (same as my Squadrons) and I'm only going from the battery to the front of the truck, I can still stick to using my 16ga primary spool to make my harness, right?
Thanks so much and super SUPER stoked to see these in action. :D

@Nitori - Are you powering the XL's direct from the battery or going through the Switchpro?
