    i just went to my local Advance Auto (sure the others have it too) and in the "performance" section got a similar filter with a 1" connection.

    This makes sense, as my 2012 does not have a cap on it. I bought the truck with 98k miles on it, and the foam filter looked to be in good condition, so I don't know if the filter was replaced, and the cap wasn't put back on or something.
