Sand fleas... Kinda taste like crab and feel like sunflower seeds. Saving the rest for bait though, I did make some clean salt water at the house to let em clean out for an hour before cooking

I saw several videos and a few of them weren't negative. I had a bucket full so I decided to give it a shot, there was plenty of left over bacon grease and butter from breakfast. like all shell fish, it was way too much work for the amount of food that was in it, I had one soft shell and I guess you could have just peeled the top shell off the others and ate the whole thing, but I just ate the legs and shovel tail thing so I wasn't eating as much poop and not guts and respiratory system

King crab legs are my go to for shellfish. The meat is awesome and it's not much work to get a lot. Better than lobster for the most part.

We had snow crab legs the other night and I mean they were too bad (work wise; they tasted delicious) but I also let my mind slip to survival situation sometimes and think "start to finish on this animal work burn more calories than I would get from it" shellfish are the celery of survival (again work vs food wise because celery is disgusting and shellfish are delicious)

Usually where you find mole crabs (aka..sand fleas), odds are REALLY good there is better choices of seafood in the immediate area to choose.

I do commend you for trying them though. Same kinda a cuisine as eating shore crabs, or sand shrimp.
